Guest guest
How's about a top ten from me! It's been a long time. 10. Only one week and one day until school is out. Thank the good Lord above. You will hear me singing praises to the heavens! This has been SUCH a long year. Yes, I know we started late, but as I was out on the picket line every single day, it wasn't like I got an extended vacation. 9. Sunday is my first triathlon and I am so thankful and so blessed to be able to do this. Yesterday when I was swimming I spent a good three laps just thanking God for my health and the ability to challenge myself in this manner. I had been really nervous about the tri, but in that swim I found a great deal of peace. I don't have to win. I don't have to be great. I just have to finish and feel good about it. 8. I got a medal for Roy to give him when I finish my triathlon. It's in my bag already. It says " To the best husband, training partner, and coach. I love you. " It is heavy metal, has a swimmer, biker, and runner on the front, and is on a 2004 ribbon. He has been such an amazing support during this. He runs with me. He bikes behind me on long runs. He puts up with me scheduling races every single weekend. 7. Last night was graduation and I was so proud to see my boys graduate (and my very few girls). One of my girls was Valedictorian and gave a wonderful, witty speech. All the speeches, in fact, were very nice. A few years ago the valedictorian gave a NASTY mean spirited speech that insulted teachers, administration, and the community. She said things like " In sville, where getting a Slurpee from 7-11 is considered a cultural event... " Her parents were so proud of her...people still talk about that speech. What a sad, nasty little girl. 6. Next weekend I get to see American Idol! 5. A whole new round of reality shows has started and TV is fun once again. We have gone DAYS without turning the TV on. (GASP!) But alas we are saved. Big Brother and Amazing Race have fulfilled our voyeuristic little dreams. 4. I was able to swim 3/4 mile this week! Wahoo! I only have to swim 1/4 mile on Sunday, so I'm ready! I also got in two lake swims (icky Twin Lakes...ookie...bleh). The only bad part was while swimming, I looked at the murky bottom filled with milfoil and my over-active imagination said, " Wow, that looks like that movie 'What Lies Beneath' where the lady comes up from the bottom of the lake and...AIEEEEE!!!! IS THAT AN ARM!?!!?!?!!?! " Had a MAJOR King moment down there and had to stop. So must remember on the tri...clear my mind, think happy thoughts, no reading King before bed the night before, and no horror movies! 3. Our 19th wedding anniversary is coming up!!! We will be out of school the day before and I think we're going to spend the day at Wild Waves. That weekend we're going to see Krall in concert, and then the next day Alanis Morisette and Barenaked Ladies. I can't WAIT! Both are in outdoor amphitheaters, too! 2. On the 27th we leave for Norway! I'm getting nervously excited, or excitedly nervous. 1. A bunch of my boys came back to see me today and give me senior pictures. Gotta love 'em. Guest guest
What a great post! Tory - next time you go swimming, if you have to picture a movie how about going with Finding Nemo? That would be way more fun! You have some very exciting things coming up! Good luck on Sunday! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you! That is just such a cool thing to be doing! Guest guest
There we go! Nemo! Maybe while I'm down there, I'll find him! (With my luck I'll find Coral, his mother...her little bones floating in the water...) > What a great post! > > Tory - next time you go swimming, if you have to picture a movie how about > going with Finding Nemo?
