I'm a two-year, 4 month survivor, was HER/neu2++ and have just completed my 9th month of Herceptin (weekly). Have three more to go and feeling great! Don't boggle yourself down with statistics...many of the ladies here will tell you there are two sides: positive and negative. When I was diagnosed as ++, which was one year out of chemo, I remember thinking, " I just can't win - everything is against me, and now being ++, my cancer will be more aggressive. I hope to rectify that situation and get a few more years out of this junkheap of a body. There's a web site her2support.org that has women who are her2+ (most have taken herceptin) and some are long-term survivors. I just finished chemo and radiation a week ago Also, my mom is dying from colon cancer and my husband of 26 yrs. left me when I was diagnosed. Its been the toughest 10 months of my life. I don't know what my future is going to bring (or if I should even worry about it). My sister died 7 yrs ago, after a long torturous fight and my boss was killed in a car accident last year. I'm sure I'll adjust soon, but right now i am overwhelmed, and its very hard to be positive and feel like nothing can go wrong. You have a great attitude and over 2 yrs is wonderful! My husband of 26yrs. also left me the week I was diagnosed, Jan 2006. I often feel that with all the stress I was under during my treatment, that it will be a miracle if it works.
