Guest guest
Hello all, Yesterday I went to see an orthopedic surgeon and was very nervous because I did not want surgery and I thought that was what he was going to recomend. Well, he knew about EDS, which was a surprise to start with. And he said that doing surgery on some one with EDS would not help anything. He wants me to go see a physical therapist and get taught how to do excersises and what type of exercises to do. he said the only thing that might help is to try to strengthen the muscles so that they can help hold the joint in place and make it more stable since the ligaments are too loose to stabalize the joint. So I am very happy. Take care all. Hugs, jen
Guest guest
Jen, Was the ortho surgeon seen for your shoulder? If so, I was told the same thing years ago. I've lived with both of mine going out in three directions, etc. They're both very loose and more or less glide out of joint, but the pain has gotten better as time went on. Sadly, exercises brought on too much pain. Each of us needs to finds what helps the most. For me it's keeping my forearms propped up. <g> I wish you all the best in gaining strength in the muscles. That will help. Love, CindyH Wisc. ~ From: Jen And he said that doing surgery on some one with EDS would not help anything.
