Guest guest
Hi, I have not been hungry since I had surgery so I do not eat a whole lot. I will have oatmeal in the morning or a drinkable yogurt. For lunch I will have string cheese or cheese and crackers and for dinner I will have a little of what i made for my kids. I try to stay away from breads and pasta because they bother my stomach, they feel heavy and just sit there. I make sure to take all my vitamins and drink lots of water. I do not exercise because of severe chronic back pain. I have not had any plastics done and I don't plan on it. My skin is pretty good, it doesn't hang or isn't too loose. My starting weight was 298 and my goal was 150 but I passed up my goal and I am at 136 right now. Emotionally I have my good and bad days but that would be due to my back pain and not being able to work, not the surgery. If you have any other questions just ask and I will try to answer them for you. Take Care M

Guest guest
I just saw your photo album and you look fantastic! WOW I'm at a stand still and have been for about 5 months. I'm getting upset. I think it is all stress related. I am having a battle with my boyfriend's mother. I just found out today she hates my guts and always has. We have been dating for 26 years. I felt this hate, but knowing it for sure really upsets me. She has been using me all this time. Anyway I think I'm am eating to take my mind off of things. I have been trying to be extra aware of it. I feel so sluggish and don't feel like doing anything. The holidays are coming and I feel left out, so does my boyfriend. We are so depressed. I need to know how you lost so much and keep going. My highest weight was 234 and now I weigh 173...it was 166. My surgery was Oct. 3, 2005. One other girl on the site suggested that I watch my carbs and exercise and drink water, water, water! I crave sweets all the time but get sick in the stomach if I ate too much, one small cookie is it. With the holidays here, how do you stay away from the goodies? I read that you were thinking about having your own site. That would be great! Please tell me what reading material you have been using so that I can follow up on more info. I need motivation really bad. Thanks for responding. Judy Re: M's Photo Album Hi Judy, I would be more than happy to answer all your questions. Ask away. Guest guest
Judy, one of the surest ways to kick cravings for carbs is to cut them to rock bottom minimum for a few days (and no actual sugar allowed,) and replace them with protein. Sugar causes us to want more of it. To the weight loser, sugars are our crack cocaine!! Once you get the excess out of your system, your cravings will subside substantially. Don't let your boyfriend's mother keep you from your goal by getting you so upset that you eat more than you know you should. I'm sure that down deep in your heart, you have known this for quite some time. You deserve to make it, so keep on pluggin'! As they say, looking great is the best revenge. You'll get there. --Cat > > I just saw your photo album and you look fantastic! WOW > I'm at a stand still and have been for about 5 months. I'm getting upset. I think it is all stress related. Guest guest
Hi Deborah, My surgery was fine, I would do it again for sure. My surgeon had said the pain would feel like someone kicked you in the stomach. To be honest with you, I did not even have pain and I was wondering if he really did the surgery! HAHA! After the second day I stopped all pain meds and didn't even use any when I got home. I had another laprascopic surgery in Sept by the same surgeon and it was a lot worse than my gastric bypass. Go figure? Anyhow, I had surgery Dec 16, 05 and I have lost 160 pounds. My starting weight was 298 and now I am 136-138. In 11 months, so I may end up losing still more but I am happy at my size now, a 4-6 in women's or 5-7 in juniors!! It is so exciting, I am sure I was not this small when I was born! LOL~ There have been people who have not seen me in a while and they literally do not know it is me. I had one lady asking who I was and I thought she was kidding and she asked me again, what's your name? She could not believe it was me! That is the best feeling. Everyone says I am too thin but I don't think so, I am just loving the smaller me. As far a down time, I took 10 days off and I was okay to go back to work, I am a nurse. Hope this helps you. If you have anymore questions just ask. Take Care and Good Luck, ~M
