It is perfectly legal to buy a 3 month supply of prescription medication from

out of this country (USA). I have told several doctors, but I have always had

jerks for doctors that refused to give me Armour as I am " already taking too

much. " If you do not tell them, they will probably say your thyroid is fine as

your tests will show in THEIR normal range, whether you feel normal there or

not. If you are going to bother with going to one, I say they need to know.

That's why I don;t bother going anymore! Hahahahahaha

Oh thanks. I was starting to sweat over if it is legal or not. So I

will just tell my doctor everything.

before.

I have, but I have a very rare doctor. I told her I did earlier in the year

and I felt better, but I stopped because I was worried if something happened

there would be no one to back me up.

I ended up going to an endo who put me on 25 mcg of Synthroid. I saw my PCP

2 weeks later and told her I still felt like crap and felt like the endo was

just trying to shut me up and move me out the door... she agreed. She then

asked me about the Armour again... she didn't know anything about it. I had

some information sent to her and she told me and go ahead and do what I

would do with self-medicating (since I still had some meds), and she would

do her best to get up to speed and work with me. I can't tell you what a

rare find this doc is.

She diagnosed me with fibro and chronic fatigue last year and that was

" confirmed " by a rheumatologist and physical therapists. The funny thing is

I feel better on the Armour... less brain fog, less aching, less pain.....

still can't sleep, but I'm hoping when I'm at optimal dosage it will work

out better.

The only thing I can suggest is to make sure that you really know what your

relationship with your doctor is.

Re: Has anyone told the doctor your self

Cindi,

I have thought of telling my Dr, but then i thought about when i would have

my labs done, and from what ive learned here,is that Dr's go by different

ranges(lower)then what most people feel good on.So wouldnt the Dr want to

lower dosage? Then that would just be a big waste of time, because the dr

wouldnt probbaly give u the dosage you want anyways ,and the ranges would

always be high,if the patient went by how they feel, and not by what the Dr

wants? So am i missing something here, cause id like to tell my Dr.?

The law of averages says the doctor won;t give you a prescription for enough

Armour to feel good on no matter what you do or don;t tell them! LOL That is sad

but ask any of use that have been to umpteen doctors! I have been to over 30 for

this disease and it's various symptoms, and the only doctors that would even

give me Armour were ones I insisted on it from. These doctors I lied and said my

last doctor in Timbuktoo gave me this and I want to stay on this as I FEEL good,

and I would tell them I was on about a grain more than I actually was... That

way if they gave me a script for it I would have enough extra to actually go up

if I needed to. The most any doctor ever gave me was 4.5 grains a day... I am

now up to 6 grains a day PLUS Cytomel. I would kiss any doctor's feet if they

would actually give me a script for this without a constant hassle.

Well I had the advantage of actually moving a;; over the country while I was

doing this so it really wasn;t so far from the truth! I went from NY to CA to AZ

to NY to CA to TX to NY, PA then CA, GA and now WV.. but that's over a period of

37 years but to track my medical records... Oh my, I don't think it could be

done!

I would think that some doctors would not want to be liable for

someone that selfmedicating. I sure do believe in selfmedicating.

How many doctors are not just going to go by lab numbers? How many

are going to listen to you when you tell them your symptoms?

Hell, I will just get my bloodtests with my doctors orders. If there

is any questions, then I will tell him. My doc is 40 miles away. I

just call him to fax the orders to my local hospital.

The last time I saw him(well his FNP). I had the skipping

heartbeats, high blood pressure, edema, hair falling out. Do you

think he gave me a prescription for anything? Hell no.

When I got my tsh,ft3,ft4 checked at the hospital the last time it

cost $391.00. What a rip off.

Hi Tigger,

Do you get the Armour without a prescription somewhere? I seen where

you can get Nature-Thyroid without a prescription. Is it basically the

same as Armour?

Thanks!

I just keep an eye on my body temperature. I am so relieved not to

have the skipping heartbeats anymore. That drove me nuts.

I just know the doc wouldn't give me any Armour. He would probably

give me synthroid YUCK!!
