Guest guest
Hi Sheila: I had my left and right hip done by the wonderful Dr. Treacy back in 2000 and 2001. After having the left hip done and was ready to have the second hip done. I had a stomach ache and it was totally blocked from all the pain medicine. It is extremely important you take something to keep everything moving. I did not know pain medicine did this and my stomach blew and I had to have a total exploratory surgery and I nearly died. Needles were coming out of every part of my body for days on end. I ended up in the hospital for about a month. I suggest you take (I really forget how to spell all of these but I will try) Senna or Seagot B (Wallgreens brand) Wallgreens will know what you are talking about. Hugh seller and most of the time these products are sold oout as soon as they get on the shelf. Also, my brother had knee surgery and after the surgery he was scared to death for about five or six days and the doctor told him to buy Caltrate? (liquid bottle about 5 inches high It works fast) Not sure of the spelling of this either but Wallgreens will know because this product has been around for a long time. It is a small green bottle. I would start with the first item Senna, etc. and take two pills every single night weather you need them or not. Take them with you and take them after the surgery because remember you have morphine and this is double trouble pain medicine. In the US they do not operate until the body is totally cleaned out and they come in your room hourly after surgery to make sure you are in action. Dr. Treacy brought in a fantastic surgeon, Dr. Donovan, and he did the major major exploratory surgery and Dr. Treacy watched over me like I was a new born baby. Stop eating a whole lot a week before you go and take these pills and don't eat anything but soup 24 hours before and after don't think you can just start eating because the surgery is over. No way, make sure your body is cleaned out. Consequently, I had to go back the following year and have the right hip done and doctor Treacy about slept in my room to make sure I was all right. Dr. Treacy asked if I would let him go to the races for two days and he called me right from the race track to check on me. He left three doctors coming and going to watch over me. I have a picture of him and I if you all are interested I will e-mail to you. I think it is still on my computer. I am sorry about all this bad spelling of medicine but I feel great and my hip (what hips) are like a new born babies. Anyone who is nervous about going to England to have Treacy or McMinn do their hip surgery just put it out of your head. It is simpler than have a tooth pulled and capped. I had my hips resurfaced very early in the game and I did not have a surface hippy site to talk to and I did not have anyone to really consult with. Great Great doctors. Guest guest
Dear Everyone: I have suggested time and time again that anyone who has joint problems please get a DNA done for Hemochromatosis. This is a deadly disease and a sneaky disease. I rarely hear that anyone goes and gets it done and this is really a shame. I have heard back from two doctors who did have the DNA done and low and behold they had Hemochromatois. They thanked me for saving their lives. Hemochromatosis does not stop at the joints. After the hips it would have gone to their liver, hearts etc. They thanked me and now they can live a normally life. If you have Hemochromatois it is just a matter of having blood removed rapidly. Go to a hematologist or get hold of the Hemochromatosis Foundation and they will tell you how to call and get a test done through the mail. When you hear of these young men jogging or whatever and they just die there is a good chance they had this disease and no one found. What is so bad it does not show up in your blood tests like a CBC or ferritin of iron saturation test. The is the most important factor of all, your blood tests can be normal and they are read normal by a REGULAR DOCTOR and this sneaky disease just keeps moving through the body. I have it and thank God it only got my hips. My blood tests were normal by my REGULAR DOCTOR FOR 17 years. I just got lucky I went to a new doctor in California and she had a lab and she loved taking tests and finding results and low and behold she called me up and told me I had Hemochromatois and she saved my life. This is why they call it the sneakiest disease in the world. I asked Mr. Treacy to do a check when his patients come into his hospital and he found one person and made it a point to call me and tell me. If you have any questions please feel free to call me on 321 799 1401 or or e-mail me at mdailey874@... . If one person listens and I save one life I will be happy. Stanford University considered it a common disease
