What am I doing wrong

Could someone help me? I am posting this from the site because I seem

to be doing something wrong when I try to reply to individual posts. I

belong to a fibromyalgia support group with Yahoo too. When I want to

reply I just hit reply and type what I want to say. The post comes

back to me so I know that it went through and usually someone replies.

With this group my posts seem to get lost in cyberspace. They don't

come back to me and no one answers. Am I doing it wrong by just

hitting the reply button? I have been having a very bad day and this

is just one more thing to bother me. I would really appreciate it if

someone would tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks Bev Joy

I see only two posts from you since you switched to individual emails,

both on February 2. Neither of those has a direct reply although replies

are often made other than by using the reply function so they may have

replies that don't look like such.

If you've posted more since then, it could be a number or email issues.

The board has spam filters on it, many automatic and preset from yahoo,

just like your personal email. Sometimes in yahoo, you'll suddenly find

emails hitting spam from people you talk to all the time. Now, I noticed

your email is coming from localnet. Localnet is not a provider many of

us use and its always possible for some reason its being kicked back

either by yahoo or by the spam filters.

I would recommend you making some posts by email and checking to see if

they show up. If not, then that gives some specifics. Beth may be

able to tell if they're being treated as Spam. If it's a yahoo mail

issue it may not show up for her.

Thank you, Bruce   I am trying something new just for a test. I

usually reply using Outlook Express. This time I am replying using the local net

mail. I don't like local net mail but maybe something in the outlook express is

treating it as spam. I am still full of questions with no answers. Bev

Bev,

I'm not sure what the issue may be. I checked the boards spam folder and there is nothing there at all. I have seen the posts from last night. They've appeared on the board without problem but obviously I don't know if you posted more that I haven't seen.

I wonder if the problem is in Outlook Express. I wish I was more tech savie. I just don't know the answer.

If using your local Net Mail solves the problem that's fine. If it doesn't let me know and I will attempt to contact Yahoo though I've rarely been able to get any real help from them.

Many times people reply to the emails of the group posts and they go

to my spam box instead of my imbox. Perhaps this is what you are

getting done to them. Jean

Bev...do you tech support for your isp? If so give them a call. My tech support here at least is very helpful.

Wish I could be of help. I also have OE and click reply to respond to mail. I receive board mail into my inbox...I had problems answering from the board site...

My 'reply' doesn't come back to me however.

I am sure now that the problem is with Outlook Express. Local net is working. I

had a very bad day yesterday and I guess that i was desperate for help. I have

been reading and learning but I still have questions and I wanted to answer some

of the posts. Like Sher's cat. I guess you had a lot about Prednisone before I

joined. I have been on it for a month and I am ballooning. I can't get into most

of my clothes. I guess that I will have to continue it but I don't think that

this huge stomach is doing much for my breathing either. Thank you for checking

or my problem. Bev

I haven't checked the OE spam. Usually localnet catches it before it goes there.

I will have to check that. Bev

I normally have very good tech support but I tried it this morning and after

being on hold for 15 minutes I was given a choice of leaving a message or

waiting some more. I chose to wait so after another 15 minutes I hung up. This

leaving a message is something new. I suppose that it has to do with the economy

and hiring less techs. I tried to answer about your cat but it got lost in

cyberspace. Bev

Bev...I know. Being on hold can be maddening!

I got this mail...send another just like you did this one and answer about my silly cat...

BTW, keep trying tech support. Call your isp and inquire if there are techs available.

I can't wait for the finished product. I do a lot of crafts. I have been working

on a cross stitch Christmas stocking for my 3 years old granddaughter for a

couple of years. I don't feel like working on it but I am feeling pressed to get

it finished. I don't know what went through to the group when I told about

myself. I am also 70. I have 4 children. My oldest died in 2004. Bev

Oh Bev...My heart just sank when I read about your oldest dying in '04. I'm so sorry...

Are the three close by to you and are they supportive to our disease?

I'd like to learn the counted cross stitch but keep saying, "Ahhhh, I'll do this first." Never have learned it... lol.

I explained a lot in my " lost in space " posts so I don't know what you

know about me. My 3 children live about 350 miles from me. I have to get back

over there but I have to sell my house first. They want me back there and that

is where I want to be. I need the money from my house for necessary expenses. My

daughter has told me that she and her husband has talked it over and I can live

with them. I don't think that she means now though and I am not ready to disrupt

there lives like that yet. I am still able to live alone and I want to get an

apartment until the IPF progresses to the point where I need the help. I

divorced my husband of 45 years and I moved over here. I should have stayed

there but what's done is done. He joined a cult over 20 years ago. I stayed as

long as I could but it got impossible. He died last March. His cult leader went

to prison not long before that. He had been raping the little girls in the cult.

Power and molestation seems to be what these cult leaders are all about. I tried

to tell him it was a cult but people who follow a man like that nefver believe

it. I am the only woman he ever loved so it is sad but he chose that man over me

and those people over his own family. I get on this subject and I could write a

book. I do believe than when my time is up I will be reunited with him and my

son. I have been trying without much success to get my name to come up on the

posts that I send like everyone elses does. I'll see how this one comes back to

me. Bev
