Hip resurfacing in Seattle

Hi: I am a new member as of today and anticipating hip resurfacing of

one hip. I was scheduled for April 7th for a total hip replacement

and then heard about resurfacing. I have not found a doctor in the

seattle area that does hip resurfacing until I read s E-

mail. Please contact me and we can share informtion. I am

on -hold until I get a better education on resurfacing and a location

other than SC to perform the surgury. I understand that a Dr. Harold

Boyd in Salem Oregon does these surgeries and a Dr. Schmalzied

in Vancover Washington also does Corin Trials. So, whomever has

information about this type of surgery in the Northwest please

Bruce,

Dr. Boyd did both of my hips and I am thrilled with the results. He is an

outstanding surgeon. Dr. Schmalzried actually works in Los Angeles at

JRI. Dr. Sparling is in Vancouver WA, but my vote still goes to Dr. Boyd.

Dr. Sparling trained with Dr. Amstutz and assisted with my 3/34/98

resurfacing. BTW that implant has seem some abuse from skydiving, mountain

biking, tennis, weigth lifting, etc. and is stronger than ever.
