Guest guest
Folks,Today an interventional radiologist tapped and drained a 400cc pus-filled pleural effusion from my right lung, where I had the VATS procedure.Needless to say I am breathing much better now. I have a small chest tube and am getting three potent IV antibiotics and some morphine forpain. Sadly I will be in hospital at least through next Monday. Guest guest
Jon, Well that's an especially nasty answer and I'm awfully glad they found it, drained it and can now treat it specifically. I'm sorry you have to be in the hospital through the weekend. Stinks! Hopefully though this will be the biggest step in your recovery from the vats. You and Dawn continue to be in my prayers. Guest guest
Jon, I am catching up on posts and am so sorry to hear you are having a hard time recooperating from the vats. I got celulitis ( I hope I spelled it right) after mine and ended up in the emergency room and in bed for two weeks after-but didn't have to stay overnight. My biggest advice is rest, rest, rest and then rest longer when you think you are okay. Cultivate your couch and be a potatoe when you get home! I am praying for you. R.
