Guest guest
Hi Max, Pre surgery, my leg was almost an inch shorter than my good side, from over 10 years of bone on bone, just wore most of my femoral head away. De Smet was able to lengthen my leg by minimal bone removal on the femoral side, and placing the pelvic cup in such a way that it lengthened my leg. Now both legs are exactly the same length, and i walk upright. Pre surgery if you check out the xrays on my website (link below) you will see a distinct lower spine curvature due to over a decade of limping and compensating for the shorter leg. These days the spine is almost straight again after 2 years of upright walking. I think that the muscles being in a correct position counts for a lot of that. If you got any questions, please email me directly cus i rarely visit this group these days. Good luck, Richie, Right 56mm BHR with dysplacia cup, Koen De Smet, Ghent, Belgium. personal website http://www.thunderballhip.50megs.com
