Wow, ! You had quite the adventure!

****************************************************************

My husband has earned his right to be called a Marine.

He has been tested and not found lacking...

May I be found as worthy of the title

Marine Wife.

My first Clean scan and funny story about the day!

Good morning all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I can finally join the clean scan group.

I got my results yesterday from my scan on weds. July 23rd. It was not easy

getting the results and had to tell a couple of people off but I got them and it

was clean. No trace of anything. I was very happy about that but mad that I

had to get nasty to get it. When I called the office to ask for the results

(because they never call you) they told me that it was not in. I told them that

the tech said they would be done by Friday. They tried to tell me that maybe

because of the storm they were behind. I said the storms came through on Monday

and I did not have the scan until Weds. try again. So they said oh we have you

blood work all in but the Dr. has not reviewed it yet so we can't give you that

either. I lost it at that one. I had the blood work done on the 14th of July

and it was the 25th of July. I said I have had it with this office and nobody

caring about the patients. I told the poor girl that I wish they all had to go

through what we do being off of medicine that controls how you feel like we do

and I am sure things would be allot different. At that point she said let me

get the Dr. on the phone. I said that would be great. She gets on with a

little attitude and tells me that they can not give me results that they do not

have. Then tells me that my blood work looked promising. TG undetectable at

..09 and no antibodies but she could not let me back on meds until she get the

report. I told her that she needed to make a call and get the results. I told

her I would call back at 1:30 for the results. Why do we have to get nasty with

them. Is it not there job to get this information for us?

So in the mean time I am mad thinking that if they don't get it I will have to

wait the weekend to go back on meds. I had to take my one son to met my sister

because they were going away to a little league baseball State Champion play off

games this weekend. Can't get out of town because there was a bank robbery and

the bank robber planted two bombs so everything was closed off, we finally make

it out threw back roads and were running about a half hour behind so this very

hypo women is rushing (imagine that) to get him there. We finally make it do

the switch of stuff into my sisters waiting van and off they went. I had my

other son with me and he need to go to the bathroom so I said wait until I pull

my car in the parking space right. Well, my car would not start. OK, don't

panic just go and get something to eat at Mc's and calm down. I got my

son taken care of in the food department and then we tried the car thing again.

It would start but then stop. We sat and then called my husband to ask what to

do (because remember I am very hypo and have no brain). He said that you can

wait and try again and if it doesn't start you will have to call

" AAA " and get towed. OK, I think I can handle that. Well in the mean time I am

thinking that I am to call the Drs. office back at 1:30. I call home and get

her number and called and they said that the report was found and that the

hospital was going to fax them the copy and when they get it the dr. would look

at it and call me with an answer. I tell them that I am broke down waiting for

a tow truck and that when they call they have my permission to give the

information to my son (16) and let him know if the scan was clean and what dose

of meds to start back on. She said OK that would be fine and she would do that.

So here we are in a Mc's parking lot waiting for a tow truck and hoping

and praying for a clean scan (is God testing me or what). I call back home at

3:00 to see if the Dr. called and what she said to be told by my son that yes

she called but would not give him the information. In a panic I think oh know I

am going to have to wait the weekend to restart meds anyways. I called the

office to see if she was still there (before they said she would only be in

until 2:00 on Friday). They told me she was just leaving and they would try to

catch her. Well she gets on the phone and tells me the BEST news of the day.

The scan showed nothing it was CLEAN!!!! She was telling me about the dose that

I should go back on and the tow truck shows up 3 1/2 hours later. I tell her I

have to go and thank you have a good weekend. The tow truck guy ask me to start

the van and said Hmmm, doesn't sound like the battery. Opens the hood and said

everything looks good I guess we will have to tow it. I said fine what ever.

Then he said wait let me try one more thing and goes to the side of the van and

bends down and hits (very hard) the gas tank and asks me to start it and she

starts right up. He said there was probably a piece of dirt it there that was

not letting the gas get threw and told me to be on my way. So after sitting

there in a hot car for 3 1/2 hours if I would have just gotten out of the car

and kicked it, it probably would have started. We made it home and I ran in the

house and got my little pill and swallowed it and I am living happily ever

after.

Thanks for taking the time to read my little story. And how said you can't

handle much while hypo!!! Have a good weekend. Happy taking meds and eating.

Hi ,

Thanks for sharing 'the good, the bad, and the ugly' with us!

So glad you got 'clean scan' report at last, hope you celebrated!

That is such a wonderful feeling, isn't it?

However, when I am hypo, I'm not able to safely drive - just

not able to concentrate or to react fast enough.

Please don't put yourself, your family, and others in danger.

it and I am living happily ever after.
