Guest guest
I made quinoa (pronounced keen-wa) yesterday. Since it's on the Core list, I thought it would be fun to give it a try. One more healthy carb to add to my repertoire. It's a pasta-like grain with a little thread that becomes detached in cooking and looks strange. It's easy to make, but I have no idea how it's used. I mixed it with FF/SF banana pudding and chunks of banana. That was interesting. I'm wondering if anyone else out there has tried it. Does anyone have any recipe ideas for it? Guest guest
I've had regular quinoa from ancient harvest without reaction. I wonder if Trader joe's quinoa has been cross contaminated? Not to volunteer as a guinea pig or anything, but I have a box in my pantry right now that I haven't tried yet. If I have a reaction when I make it, I'll let you guys know... Maybe the problem is good 'ol TJ! > > I have had small amounts of quinoa with no noticible problems (I'm thinking > off hand of those delicious crackers called " 's Gone Crackers " ). > > However, I bought boxed quinoa at Trader Joes that was labeled GF. Guest guest
I eat Ancient Harvest Quinoa Flakes every morning. It is lower in carbs but higher in fiber and protein. Two min in my microwave and I have an oatmeal-like hot cereal. Before finding this, I'd eat breakfast and two hours later I'd be starving! The receipe for hot cereal is on the back but I add vanilla and a sweetner (honey, sugar, or splenda) then add blueberries or strawberries(in season) or maple flavoring and cinamon. If I really want a change, I put chocolate syrup in it. Ysabell --- seamaiden399 wrote: > I've had regular quinoa from ancient harvest without > reaction.
