Finally did it!!!

Well I finally took the plunge. After months of indecision, I made the

call to JRI and talked to Chuck and am starting the process of qualifying

for a resurfacing. I would have never known about this procedure except for

my mom having a conversation with a total stranger at a New Year's Party.

Thank goodness!!! I have been to 3 different OS and they all were pushing

for a THR and all said I would not be a candidate for resurfacing. I feel

that this was said due to the unpopularity and they do not perform this

procedure - so I'm going to someone who is the expert!!! I feel like a

great weight has been lifted and I am no longer going around in this clouded

state. I have clarity. Just making the decision to do SOMETHING has been

an amazing stress reducer. I know that I still have to meet with Dr.

Amstutz, and hopefully all will be fine, but for right now I have more

overall relief that I have had it seems like forever.

I just couldn't embrace the ideal of a THR at 41 with the possibility of

needing another - in both hips. I really feel this want meant to be.

I haven't posted much but have been reading all the archives and have gained

a wealth of information. I did receive a response from and it was his

response that led me to get off my butt and do something. This is a

wonderful list - full of support and info. Thank You for letting me share

and ramble.
