My anemia is gone, but the tiredness remains. Maybe because this is stressful to have growths in our uterus! Sue

Guest guest
Hi, Do you bleed heavy with your fibroid? If so, it's probally anemia. Anemia is common even in women with no heavy bleeding. It's common in women and older folks. You'll need a blood test to see. If you're anemic, take Slow-FE iron and vitamin C. Don't lie down for 30 minutes after. Even once your anemia counts go back up to normal, your store counts can take up to a year to reach normal. So treating anemia can be a long process. You could be tired from the stress of it all. Thyroid problems can cause you to be tired too. You can have this checked too at the same time. Or you can be a super busy woman and tired from that. Check for anemia and thyroid problems. Ku Kris wrote: hey everybody! I just have one question... Does me being tired have anything to do with these fibroids? I don't know about being anemic yet..I'm going in on next wednesday to get an ultrasound and also see my gyn..I'll ask her then. But I was just wondering if anybody knows, besides being anemic..would this fibroid thing cause me to be VERY tired? Thanks for any replies or suggestions! a

Guest guest
Hello Sue, The tiredness is probably due to iron loss from blood loss related to heavy bleeding. My primary has me going to a hematology specialist for iron IV therapy. Treva

Guest guest
Hi, For anemia, take Slow FE iron (it's a slow release iron pill) and vitamin C to help it absorb. Eat iron rich foods but if your anemia is bad, you'll need the Slow FE iron, food alone won't work. Your doc can check for anemia with a simple blood test. It can take up to a year to get your counts all back up to normal but you'll feel better much sooner than this. Ku wrote: Can you tell me how did you do to make your anemy go away please ?
