I love the Russian Spice Tea but had not found a recipe that did not contain

sugar until just recently someone posted it in another group (not diabetes).

This recipe uses Crystal Lite and it is really good.

Now, I need to find some unsweetened decaffeinated ice tea mix. I looked at

Kroger's today but they did not have it. Does anyone know if Walmart or

Food Lion has this?

Hi Jane,

Here is the recipe. Note: Crystal Light does contain Aspartame.

hugs

Eunice

Russian Spiced Tea Mix

3/4 c. decaffeinated instant tea powder

3/4 c. Splenda

2 tubs pineapple-orange Crystal Light mix

1 tub lemonade Crystal Light mix

1 tsp. ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp. ground allspice

1/4 tsp. ground cloves

To make the mix, combine all of the ingredients and store them in an

airtight container. If you are making this to give as a gift, put the mix

into an attractive glass jar and provide the instructions for use. To use

the mix, add 1 tablespoon (more or less to taste) to 8 ounces of boiling or

cold water. Stir until everything is dissolved. If serving cold, add ice

cubes and a lemon slice (optional).

Recipe Note: This recipe makes 32 (8 ounces) servings at 4.1 cals., and 1.4

gram of net carbohydrates each.

Note from Eunice: Since some people like their tea sweeter than others, I

omit the Splenda. Some people may prefer adding honey to it. When I make a

cup for myself, I add a small amount of Splenda.
