I missed the thread, but are we talking about how to keep cats out of

certain areas? I found that a remedy that is supposed to keep varmints out

of the garden works on cats too. It's a mixture of baby powder and cayenne

pepper. I used it to keep them from sleeping right ON the doormat. I

accidentally discovered that carpet fresh sprinkle works about the same. I

sprinkled some in the litter box and they wouldn't go near it. :-/

I just wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions about keeping my

kitty out of the flower bed. I am going to try the cayenne pepper first.

I do have a thick layer of bark, but he just digs down underneath it.

That's how I know where he's been. LOL.

No mothballs, I promise.

BTW, he is an outdoor cat, but we live far off the road, and they never

venture down that way, even when we walk down to get the mail. We have a

kitty door in the back window of our garage, which is detached from the

house, and they have the run of the place. They are quite content not

being in the house - especially with my noisy 5YO and 3YO! They are only

interested in the house because that is where their food and treats are

kept. :)

Thanks again!

I have a siamese (or tonkinese) mix...that whines like a baby...and still

kneads a blanket for comfort...and is often clueless...but sweet. Does she fit

the description for siamese?

now you tell me. this explains why she often follows me around the

house...and " cries " very loudly when she doesn't know where I am. Honest to

goodness,

she is like a little kid needing to be near her mommy. But she's a

sweetie...and very special.

Siamese are very people dependent cats or at least the ones I have been around.

They also can be good watch cats in that if you don';t belong there, they can be

quite aggressive to strangers. As in all things though there are exceptions!

Tonks come in three patterns solid, mink and pointed. The crossed eye is

not just seen in the Siamese. It comes with the pointed gene. I have seen

cross eyed Hemi's and cross eye Tonks. It is not desired and you will not

see them in the show ring. I have a pointed rescue guy that is cross eye

as the come. Wow pink and black on the pads, more black the color is seal

and more pink then it is chocolate.
