Guest guest
Does anyone know if the cereal Kix have malt flavorings in them? I kno they're made from corn but I don't know if they're GF.
Guest guest
It's too bad that Rice Chex has barley malt in it. It's amazing how hard it can be to find cereals that don't have either a suspect food starch, malt flavoring, or a WBRO grain in the ingredients. We were travelling last weekend and it took me several tries to find a grocery store that stocked " natural/health foods " cereals, among which I found one brand of corn flakes that were GF. Guest guest
Yah, it is too bad. I like Rice Chex. Speaking of corn flakes, we were buying Health Valley's Organic Blue Corn Flakes. There aren't any gluten ingredients that I noticed, but it doesn't say it's GF on the box. Everytime I eat them, my pulse sky rockets, I get real lethargic, get headaches, and can feel my body shutting down. I guess I have to find something that says it's GF. That's a shame. I was really enjoying them. Cheryl john.o.newell@... wrote: It's too bad that Rice Chex has barley malt in it. Guest guest
When a company labels some of their products GF and not others, I figure they must know something and don't buy the ones that don't say GF. Bob's Red Mill is another company is this category, much to my disappointment. (Their oat products were things I used to really enjoy eating.) -------------- Original message ---------------------- > Yah, it is too bad. I like Rice Chex. Since going GF, we have had reactions with every Health Valley product we've tried. Maureen
Guest guest
I buy Health Valley Rice Crunch Ems, They are just like rice chex, Cant tell the differance. If you find a store near you that carries them I think you will be happy with how much they are like chex. > > It's too bad that Rice Chex has barley malt in it. Guest guest
I buy Health Valley's rice crunch ems all the time and have never had a reaction. I have not tried any of their other cereals though. Have you tried the rice crunch ems? > > I don't know what it is about Health Valley and their production > lines, but we can not tolerate anything at all made by them, even > things labeled in a way to look safe (don't mean they are misleading > me, just that there are no red flags on the labels). Guest guest
I agree! Even the people in my family who swear they know what is GF were tricked by these (And for those that were concerned about cross-contamination issues, I've never noticed a reaction to these.)
