Hello,

Yes I received a Conserve+ on my left hip in July 1999 at age 36.

I remember being wheeled down to the OR suite and thinking man the equipment

looks old. The anesthesiologist asked why I looked nervous and I told him.

His response was " they spend money on the important stuff and not to worry " .

My care was fantastic by Dr. Amstutz, Dr Beaule and the nursing staff and I

had their room upgrade that was like an apt with sofa, coffee table, etc.

Chuck and his staff from JRI is great and so helpful with info &

logistics.

It has been great! I should not have waited. Today I feel great...ZERO pain,

good ROM. I try and work out on the treadmill & do leg presses when time

allows. I have a 3 year old boy that is very energetic and I feel extremely

well.

After reading this and have questions, please let me know.

I don't know about equipment, but some of the furnishings, etc, do

look a bit dated, but in case it hasn't already been mentioned, the

LA Orthopaedic Hospital is building a new hospital and research

facility in the UCLA Santa hospital complex which will be

their new home in 2006. So there's a reason they are not spending

money on aesthetic updates downtown. I believe JRI Drs Beaule and

Schmalzried do some of their surgeries in Santa already.
