I'm going to say this simply but strongly. Your doctor is wrong and by

that very answer I question his knowledge of PF and his treatment of

you. My pulmonologist would label him as " very proprietary. " With the

variations in sats and needs we have with different activities there is

no possible way to know what we need if we don't have oximeters.

Now, the one many members have gotten and been very pleased with is this

Warning to make sure any oximeter is FDA approved. This one is. The

Ascent oximeter they also sell is not approved for medical use.

Eileen... many of us here, including me, have the oximeter Bruce wrote about. Works fine so far.

I am thinking of buying a pulse oximeter. My doctor told me not tobother but I think I should get one. I went online and there are somany with varying prices. Does anyone have a suggestion for one nottoo expensive?Eileen, 57 IPF/UIP May 07New to oxygen Dec 08

Yes, it is a nice oximeter. My wife got me the yellow one Bruce recommended forChristmas. I'm used to the ones at work that beep with each heartbeat. You know you're getting old when you get an oximeter for Christmas.

Thank you so much. I ordered it. I am starting to wonder about my

doctor too. My husband and I are going to go see him and talk to him

about things.
