Guest guest
A friend's severely autistic son is about to get a crown. I reminded her to get non-mercury fillings, she asked about gold, that's what the dentist wanted to do. Dentist said gold will hold up better against his teeth grinding. Any ideas? Guest guest
Make sure that all of the old " silver " filling is completely removed, before placing the crown, and that there are NO silver fillings adjacent to the crown or will be in contact with it when the upper and lower jaw are in chewing function....if any of this occurs, it will not only set up an disasterous electrical current, but the gold crown will draw mercury into it from any filling it touchs....all very detrimental with long term consequences. Guest guest
Dolphi, did I understand correctly that if you have an amalgam filling under a crown and want to remove it, you need to get rid of the crown too because it has accumulated mercury from the filling? Guest guest
Most use of " gold " is for crowns and historically " gold crowns " were placed over an amalgam base which had mercury. And metal crowns over amalgam is much worse than just an amalgam filling, since mixed metals in the mouth result in galvanic currents that can be measured with a Radio Shack ampmeter and which are known to pump the mercury and metals into the body at high levels, even more than fillings. This often results in accumulation of metals in the gums at the base of the tooth that can be easily seen in the mirrow as a blue/grey film and is called an amalgam tattoo. It seems most dentists don't understand such since it is contrary to their dogmatic(non-science) training even though they see them in the mouth commonly. Many believe what they are told rather than what they see unfortunately, and don't bother to look in Medline(www.nlm.nih.gov) themselves though its available free to everyone. But " gold " crowns or gold fillings aren't really gold, but rather are gold allows. And you have to be very careful which metals are used in the allow, as the most commonly used like nickel and palladium are extremely toxic and also carcinogenic, as well as being extremely immune reactive. Its possible to test for biocompatiblity of dental materials using blood immune reactivity tests like Clifford Lab or Peak Lab (see their web sites) or MELISA. Over 90% test immune reactive to metals like mercury or nickel or palladium since they are very toxic and damage the immune system(which reacts at some level). MELISA is a test that only measures more serious immune reactivity such as that that causes autoimmune conditions like MS, rheumetoid arthritis, ALS, lupus, scleraderma, oral lichen planus, etc. These metals in dental materials often are the main factor in such autoimmune conditions, and patients recover or improve significantly from these conditions when that is the cause. See www.melisa.org You can also use ElectroDermalScreening test for biocompatability testing as a good option, if you can find a good tester with experience in testing for dental material biocompatibility. Find info in yellow pages under accupuncture or alternative medicine or go an equipment manufacturers web site like www.biomeridian.com and ask for someone in your area. EDS tests are inexpensive and very useful for other purposes to screen for health problem causes, allergies, toxic exposures, parasites, viruses, bacterial infections, inflamations, etc. Bernie,
Guest guest
Dolphi, Is there any way to be certain there is no amalgam under a gold crown before you start chelating?? Thanks, kw Make sure that all of the old " silver " filling is completely removed, before placing the crown, and that there are NO silver fillings adjacent to the crown or will be in contact with it when the upper and lower jaw are in chewing function....if any of this occurs, it will not only set up an disasterous electrical current, but the gold crown will draw mercury into it from any filling it touchs....all very detrimental with long term consequences.
