Guest guest
For me, going hypo did weird things to my bowels. I would not go for days on end, feel constipated an d bloated. Then, when I did go, it was always explosive diarrhea. And then I would be fine (or rather, constipated) for a few days. I always felt that it was annoying, but better than being TOTALLY blocked, which is miserable. Woodbridge, VA Dx'd 8/95, 1 cm nodule w/multifocal papillary. Guest guest
> Okay, I'm on my eighth day of being hypo and on the LID and while this is indelicate of me, I need to know. Does anyone else get irritable bowel when hypo? For the last eight days I've had small hard stools in the mornings, gas all day, and multiple explosive watery stools by bedtime. Does the hypo cause it? I've had IBS before because of stress, but I've been without an attack for many months. Does the LID aggravate it, cause it? More important, since I am on the LID right now, what can I do for it? Forgive me for my indiscretion, but I need advice. -Kelley Kelley, You are not alone in this! I am having the same problem as you. I am on cytomel now but haven't started LID. I don't know what it all means and what's causing it, but I wanted to let you know that you're not the only one. (an now I know I'm not the only one either - that's what's so great about this site!) Patty > >

Guest guest
> Does anyone else get irritable bowel when hypo? > YES!! It's awful. I've had it for months, trying to get the meds right. I've been taking Nexium because I also have acid reflux since the TT and hypo hell. The Nexium seens to calm the whole thing down. Before I took it, it felt like someone had used a wire brush inside my entire digestive tract. OUCH! The doctor says it should resolve itself as my hormone levels are corrected. I don't know. I hate to think I'll have to take something forever just to digest my food and not be in agony, so I've got my fingers crossed! I think I've had nearly every bad side effect there is since my diagnosis. It gets old after a while. The only thing that keeps me from deep depression is that others on this list say it gets better. Ask your doc to give you something to ease your problem.
