Guest guest
Marlena, They say the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem and you just did that. Now with our help you WILL get through this. Just take each moment as it comes. When you feel like having some stop and think of how close you are to your goal think of how hard you have worked. That wc is just not worth it. Save the wc for those special moments with your dh ;0) then it can be exercise along with a treat. LOL Hang in there and post when you need us. -- Sue Huls 214/177.5/175(mini goal)/160 3/9/01 Independent Party Consultant http://www.1800partyconsultant.com/50407/ all your party supply needs in one place
Guest guest
I have to agree with this. Marlena, I also had a whipped cream problem. I went cold turkey for like a month, and when I returned to it, I was able to do it a little at a time. The batch in my fridge right now has been there for a week! (though that has more to do with getting my chocolate mousse recipe wrong in a bad experiment) Also, try not to get into feeling so hugely guilty-- guilt is often exactly what drives us to (ch)eat! My little deal with myself is that I buy one pint of cream a week. I figure 2 cups of cream = 13.2g, and I can take those 2g/day of carbs as cream without the guilt. If it goes away in 3 days, that's still under 4 carbs a day, and I don't get any more all week! --jen 284/221/160 > Marlena, for what it's worth, I find giving up something > addictive (like cigarettes, diet sodas, etc) cold > turkey works better for me. Guest guest
, I can totally relate to what you are saying. I have problems with compulsive eating too. I think I've always been an " All or nothing " kind of person. In other words if I start eating something--I want it all. I'm much better off not eating it at all! A couple of examples from these past two weeks while I'm trying to do the Atkins induction. I read nuts were a good snack and Dr. Atkins even recommended macadamia nuts. So, last weekend I bought a small can of macadamia nuts and small can of smoked almonds (salt and all). Well, I started out with just a few. I kept the can in the kitchen so I had to get up and go get them. But that didn't stop me. I didn't stop eating them until I'd eaten them all. Those two cans only lasted until Sunday night and I bought them on Friday evening! Then, I also bought a jar of peanut butter, another of my favorite things and an OK sounding snack. Well, I hate to admit it, but that jar is G-O-N-E, too! How did that happen???? No one eating it but me!!!! I have made up my mind that for now, I just can't even have these snacking foods in my house. Because, as you said, I have too good a memory and I don't FORGET they are here! Guest guest
Ruthie!!! Was wondering what happened to you. Cream whippers are evil from what I have heard. After the cream cheese addiction I am staying away from those whipper thingamabobbies. I think the pain pills are killing my metabolism, is that possible?
