Hi all,

Sorry I've not been around much lately. We just sold our house and have been

busy trying to find a new one. We found one and will be moving in a few weeks.

I can't wait! Plus, I just finished a very difficult Financial Management

course that was kicking my butt.

I see there are a lot of new names, so I'll take this opportunity to welcome you

all! As for the oldies but goodies, I missed you!

I got my six months post op test results back and everything was normal with the

exception of my blood sugar levels. It was considered low. I think she said

normal range starts at 74 up to 90 and mine was 62. She said I need to make

sure I have some protein before bed to maintain my blood sugar levels through

the night. So, I'll likely have some yogurt or cottage cheese. I've lost 87

lbs and I am 3 pounds away from reaching my October goal.

I really thought some of my tests might come back bad because I have been really

bad about taking my vitamins. I may have a multi-vitamin and B12 maybe twice a

week and I rarely have my calcium. I think because I strive to eat balanced

meals that perhaps that is why my test results came back normal. But, it also

has me wondering about how all of the surgeon's advice differs and perhaps what

they say about deficiencies is not always the case in all patients. I wonder if

any studies have been done comparing those who took their vitamins religiously

compared to those who haven't taken. I'll have to look into that. Please don't

think because I've not taken my vitamins and am doing well that you can do the

same. I would hate to think that my sharing this would lead to someone else

thinking it is alright for them to not take their vitamins and then have

something bad come of it.

Well, I look forward to catching up with you all.

Congratulations on your new home!!

Someone in the support group mentioned putting protein powder in yogurt to add

some more nutrients in the day.
