Bonnie,

Glad to hear it went well with the attorney and you felt comfortable with him.

But sure wish the hearing would be coming up sooner, tho'. :(

It's a benefit he's worked for other's with EDS. Mine didn't, so I needed to

fill him in on it. (Wish doctors would wanted to learn as fast as he did!! )

I haven't worked since the day the doctor took me off work. I doubt any doc

would release me to work. <g>

Good luck!!

PS Has the snow started in yet down there? How much is predicted?

We haven't had any yet, and it's forecast to be about

6-8 " Wonder if we'll actually get it?

saw SSD lawyer today

Well I had an 11 am appt with the SSD lawyer. Good thing it was this morning

as we are under a severe winter storm warning for later today/evening!!

I had to drive to downtown Milwaukee (not my favorite place to go to). Got

there in good time, found a parking garage across the street from the building I

had to go to.

The lawyer was VERY nice. I felt comfortable with him immediately. He was very

understanding of my EDS as he's worked with others with EDS. Very personable

too...<G>

I had taken all of my SSD papers that I filled out, what Ray and others had

filled out for me from SSD, medical records up thru Jan 2003, articles on EDS

(pain, chronic fatigue, etc). The lawyer will file all the paperwork to appeal

the 2nd denial (wipes sweat off face!)....

He says my case can be won and he took me on. Downside - Milwaukee is a YEAR

behind in dealing with SSD cases and seeing admin law judges.... UPSIDE: I CAN

work for up to 3 hours a day as long as I don't go over a max. amount of monthly

income. I need to get my MD's written permission... I was really surprised at

this.. I was under the impression that you couldn't WORK at ALL while applying

for SSD... Now to find a job that I can do and not be in pain....etc etc etc.

I feel like a HUGE weight has been lifted off my shoulders!!!

Anyone else work after they gave their case to a lawyer? Should I try to work?

Bonnie
