Guest guest
My son does not wear aids yet as we are still figuring this all out. However, I do have two different boys who wear two very different helmets. My older son's CCM is one of the " x-ray " helmets and it has a lot of room around his ears and behind them - we never have to pull out the sides like we do on my 7 yo's Itech just to get it on. So going to a local shop and trying on several might be just the ticket. It's been our experience that a specialty shop will take a piece of equipment back if it isn't too warn and it doesn't fit right. My 7 yo also has another HOH player that is a mite (like him) who wears aides. I might see them at practice tomorrow and will see them on Saturday at the game and could ask them about the helmet. I would tell all the coaches too. They actually remember about K and make sure they look at him as well as let him go at least 2nd or 3rd so that he can follow the others. Good luck - we love hockey! Guest guest
Hi , Your thread caught my attention, as I have been really bad about keeping up with my Listenup emails lately-- Life with an active toddler! Anyway, so much is changing in terms of hearing aid option for children. BTE (Behind the Ear) aids are not the " Only " or necessarily the " Best " option for kids. You should check out the following web page: http://www.generalhearing.com/explore.cfm We started using the General Hearing soft material ITE when our daughter was approx 6 months old, and unlike so many of her hard of hearing peers--she keeps her soft material ITEs on for the better part of the day. Several folks on this list have made the switch and seem pleased. Anyway--just an FYI. Best,
