Guest guest
Hi , Thanks to you and Terra for the congratulations. I am such a happy camper. Never ever did I think I'd one day be an inspiration to others, but I actually do find myself mentoring friends who want to follow the WW program. I love that! I joined WW on 6/1/03. My meeting and weigh-in day is Friday and I am blessed to have a great leader. She's a 78-year-old feisty little grandma who has kept her 56 pounds off for 38 years. She's very motivational, and she has the kind of raspy voice that goes with me everywhere I go! LOL. I started at a 24 or 3X, and am now wearing 16s, 14s and occasionally a 12 (yippee). I'm fairly big-boned, so I'll never be a skinny little thing. But I'm very happy to be able to buy " normal " size clothing! When I joined WW they asked me to set a goal for myself. I never expected to reach a goal, but I picked 175 because I was there many years ago (like 20!), and I thought it was " doable " for my size frame. WW says I should weigh 160 at the max for my height. At this point, I'm trying to reach that mark, but I'll be happy wherever I end up. I want this to be livable for the rest of my life...not to box myself in to a weight that's too hard to maintain. Time will tell...!! I do have before and now pictures. (I'm not quite to " after " yet!) Is there a place on the SWW website for photos? , you're doing great yourself! To go under that 200-lb mark is a huge achievement. I remember the day! Keep up the good work! Bette 278/169/160?

Guest guest
Terra, I did the smaller goal-setting too. No way could I look way down the road at a goal of a hundred pounds or more. You're doing the right thing! Set up reasonable, reachable goals and celebrate each success!! Bette

Guest guest
Thank you so much for replying. Do you feel like you're at your perfect weight for your body frame? My WW leader told me that some people are " denser " than others and that if your doctor will write a note saying that the weight you're at is whats right for your body frame then WW will consider you lifetime and you won't have to pay for meetings anymore. Maybe 160 is it for you. > Hi , > Thanks to you and Terra for the congratulations. Guest guest
Hi , I wouldn't say that I'm at a " perfect " weight for my frame...but yes, a good weight. My doctor did write me a note -- for 175! He's thrilled. And yes, I'm a " dense " type. In fact, I've had several people lately ask me what I weigh (those good friend-types who don't mean any harm but who ask direct questions!)... and when I've told them 169 or 170, they've been shocked. They would have guessed 145 or so. That's just how I carry it....densely! LOL. My WW leader asks me each week if I'm ready to begin Maintenance now, and so far I've answered no. I have a few meeting coupons left, so when those run out, maybe I will move into Maintenance. Bette

Guest guest
This is what I've been doing... I've got so much to lose that it is hard for me to keep my eyes on the prize, so to speak. I've been setting mini-goals for myself. Getting a book that I've been wanting when I lose so much, etc. When I hit the halfway mark, I'm going to treat myself to a week at a spa. It has been ages since I've had a vacation... and the place that I'm looking at has a weight loss/exercise program in addition to spa services. I thought that might be a good way to re-motivate myself! RE: Bette in CA - 278/169/160? Non-food related celebrations....like getting a pedicure, buying a new pair of shoes, getting your hair colored, etc. Bette Holzer wrote:Terra, I did the smaller goal-setting too.
