Young type ones...

Ahhh dear lady, I fear I am no longer " young " in the way you seek. However, age

and maturity are often different questions... perhaps I can still ~qualify~

anyway???

There are any number of issues you will face as a young woman, in most respects

identical to those faced by a young man. But male/female, the diabetic issues

are one in the same. Ok, menstruation I grant you is different, but aside from

that <shrug> I can think of no other which a young man does not deal with

identically in terms of diabetes.

We are an experienced group here, some more than others.... what issues

challenge you, you wish to discuss among diabetic friends? Beginning intimate

relationships, the diabetes factors there? Blood sugar in the " adult " work

world? I doubt I will be able to assist much in the next day or two, a death in

the family... but though I might be unable, other here should....

Share your voice... answers will come.

Hi Jeff,

I can't remember his name, but at the last Olympics there was an American

swimmer who was diabetic; he was cover boy for DIABETES HEALTH.

Hey, you didn't offend me at all! I'm sure you have, those little

things like going for pizza with friends just isn't the same, is it? I

can't image swimming on the swim team as I did while trying to keep my

glucose at optimal levels for those sprints.
