Guest guest
Hang in there. We have all gone through the same process. It's a tough decision to make. I know I had a tough time before I decided to go a head with Spencer's DOC Band. To be honest with you, I think we as moms have a harder time dealing with this than the child does. Spencer has been in DOC Band for 5 1/2 weeks. He quickly adjusted to it and has had no problems at all. When I was consulting with my clinician she told me that if we as his parents were happy with his head shape than to leave it at that and don't go through with treatment. Yes there would be noticeable differences with his head shape and his ears being off. But she left it up to us. I know with Cranial Technologies, they will band children up to 18 months (I think that is the cut off) So if you want to wait to do treatment and try more aggressive repo, than try that. You have to feel comfortable with the decision to do treatment. Do you have pictures of your baby in the website? Best of luck Lorie Mom to Spencer- 6 months DOC Band- Glendale, AZ [sPAM] Having second thoughts.... Everyone that has responded to my concerns has been really helpful, but I still have been agonizing over this decision all week. I just can't get myself ready to put my son through this. Are there any actual problems that can come from not fixing the plagio besides cosmetic, or having to have glasses adjusted because his ears are a bit misaligned? I have looked at him so much that I can't tell anymore. Would it be ok to wait for a few more months to see if it gets any better? He is five months old now. Most people have said that their child did fine with the helmet, but it just seems so huge and overwhelming right now and the more I read the more worried I get. I have spent hours on the internet and had a headache all day and yelled at the kids in my class from the tension! I just don't know what to do.
