Misty,

I had the same problem with my left leg going numb in the thigh

area.......I talked to my doctor who I was also seeing for a back injury.

Way before surgery he told me there is a nerve that runs down the front of

your hip bone.....When people get really heavy, and they have that flap of

belly skin that folds over that it can pinch that nerve on the front of the

hip bone. Mine was doing that, my leg would go numb after just a little bit

of time on my feet. I was in really bad shape........But after the weight

that I have taken off, I no longer have that pain/numbness anymore......As

you lose your belly fat that should go away.....Also my back has gotten

ALLOT better. I have a herniated disc......

I know that feeling Misty, I am going through lots of back therapy now..... my

dr. said for every 10lbs lost your back feels better... I know the difference it

has made for me. Best wishes!!!! I know how nerve wracking this time can be...

you just have to weigh your options and decide what is best for you... You will

make the right decision... we're here for you too..

Misty,

Just think of the alternative to surgery.......If you continue down the

road your on now, what kind of medical issues could you be fighting years

from now......You can take great strides to stop all or most of those issues

now. I used to be a diet coke-head......Now I am hooked on crystal light, I

I think I heard some place that the obesity rate is the largest in the

south? Am I right on that? I think I saw it on 60 minutes or something, so

that may be why they are cutting it out in SC.......Cheap bastards!

Mike,

Here is the CDC's statistics on the United States' obesity rates. It does

appear that obesity has a higher rate of occurrence in the southern states.

I think your right Mike, because here in the south all people know

is to deep fry, skillet fry, and anything fry; cornbread, fried

green tomatoes, okra, you name it. It's really gotten out of hand,

eating unhealhty, I'm so glad I have taught my kids to make better

choices than I was. My parents were born in 1917 and 1928, so you

can imagine how their eating habits were growing up on farms.

If you have never had a cigar you wouldn't understand........I guess a

cigar has the strength of about 15 cigarettes at the same time. If I inhaled

I would sound like Burns........I don't know anybody that inhales

cigars.......I never said it had less of an effect, that is why I stopped,

so I don't get cancer of the mouth........I just said I didn't have a

physical addiction to nicotine like a cigarette smoker........

Is it possible your Dr. could help you to challenge

them on this? or is it possible when time comes for

open enrollment you could switch insurance companies?

Dont give up , where there is a will there is a

way.

My insurance didn't cover it either. I had to pay for it. If it hadn't

gotten the $$ from my mom it would have been financed.
