Guest guest
I FINALLY got my doctor to write me an Rx for something for pain! I know the reason he hasn't done so is because he wants me to see a pain management doctor and I had to exhaust all my resources in that dept..called every pain management center from Albany to the Bronx and none take the Medicaid so I called (my doctor) and told him ", there is NO place that's gonna take me cause of the Medicaid and now the time is here, you have GOT to write me something for the pain" and he said "OK", and right now I'm on Percocets which I know aren't gonna help much but at least it's a start in the right direction.. he had given me a 3 day script for Lodine which did jack nothing so now we've graduated from the NSAID's (which don't do anything but give upsets stomachs) to the controlled substances..the Percocets aren't doing much but with the way the weather here is in NY, the cold is really setting the pain off to no end...but like I said, at least this is a start with the pain meds..I've waited over 15 months to get something for the pain but with everything going on with my lawsuit and all, it was a waiting game, exhaust this resource, exhaust that one...well they're all exhausted and I think my telling him about some of the meds people here are on (didn't mention names) got him thinking that I shouldn't have to be going through this with no form of pain relief at all..when I told him that a lot of people are on oxy's. hydros, etc, he looked at me like "WOW" so I think I got his brain going on this..he did tell me that I'm a medical challenge to him...not just because of the RSD but also because of that spot they found on the bone on my hip and even after the MRI still nobody knows what it is..plus the cyst they found on my ovary which said is gonna have to come out (I knew that) so I guess I'm keeping him on his toes...hope everyone is having some form a low pain day..you're always in my thoughts... Guest guest
If the swirly head and nausea doesn't go away within 2 weeks, then I'd definately talk to your doctor about switching to something else. But, those are just the beginning side effects that everyone can get when starting on them. If the swirly head goes away but the nausea doesn't, you can ask your doctor about starting on a med to help with the nausea. there are a few different kinds that some of us are on to help counteract the nausea side effect. Just wait 2-3 weeks for the side effects to disappear on their own. Tonia -------Original Message------- I'm terrified of going under general anesthesia...but I do know that he'll have the cyst biopsied and he was talking about some kind of probing thing to see what that spot is on my hip bone...so far, the percocets aren't doing anything for the pain and they're only making me swirly headed and sometimes nauseous...but it's a start right?
