Guest guest
Hi , Dumping is where you ingest too much sugar into your system and you will have the worst diarrhea you have ever seen and that it is what is known as dumping. Guest guest
Not a problem. I had heard about it from one of my wife's cousins that had the surgery several years ago and after the first time I experienced it, I called Sandy and she told me that I had just experienced it. I have only had dumping just twice in the four months since my surgery. Lhsh@... American by birth, Saved by the grace of God. Re: What is dumping? Thanks I always thought it was vomiting! Guest guest
Many people that have the bypass cannot tolerate more than five grams of sugar at a time or you incur this phenomenon called dumping. The ones that can tolerate the high amount of sugar will more than likely not lose the weight that they had been losing without the sugar. The best rule of thumb is just not to deal with more than five grams at any one time. I was told by my dietician that even fruit juices were not good choices because of the high amounts of natural sugar and the amount of calories that they possessed. Lhsh@... Guest guest
, My understanding is that they take out the portion of your intestine that digests sugar and fats. I don't know exactly how this causes the dumping I just know it does. Some people can do sugar though. I can do some sugar. I cannot do sugar and milk products together, this causes almost instant diarrhea with me. Hugs!! > > If you have a bypass can you not have sugar? Guest guest
Hi Mike Other people (Amity knows them, too) have told me they have this reaction (racing heart) when they eat something with too much sugar. It's another way dumping manifests. Dana Re: What is dumping? > > >> When you eat a lot of sugar (or fat), your body will dump a lot of >> water into the intestines to dilute it out.
