Guest guest
please please tell me you got the lyme test from a good lab. i dont want to alarm you but i know of hundreds of people misdiagnosed with fibro or ms or als lupus etc when it was really one of the over 100 strains of lyme borrelosis bacteria. rheumatologists are famous for prescribing steroids for the symptoms which weakens your immune system. f you have lyme steroids are fatal!! please go to www.lymenet.org if you dont believe me. hundreds of people on that site are suffering due to a incorrect dx. some have been misdiagnosed for years because insurance companies pay for the elisa titers test which will only show a few strains of the disease. this test is only 30% accurate so many believe they dont have lyme when they actually do. I have had to be my own advocate for treatment because of the 15 different rhumies, neurologist etc non had a clue or wanted to because they are in the insurance companies pocket. I am just worried about this.I would hate to see another person suffer because most drs are just ignorant when it comes to lyme. and if i remember you had a bite with a rash in the past. please for your own good check this out. many rheumatologists dx fibro when they cant find any other cause for your symptoms. lyme is treatable and curable. if caught early enough and if your immune system is not compromized due to steroid use. on another note the specialist told me surgery of any kind aor any sort of stress or trauma will bring the lyme bacteria out of its dormant stage. this is what happened to me. I was strong as horse and my immune system was keeping it in check until my surgery and recovery from it. so please just take this seriously. lyme is everywhere,in your backyard.at the park . IN YOUR HOUSE if you have pets. they just discovered 2 more diseases carried by ticks that cause similar symptoms but are more like malaria. I dont mean to be an alarmist but since I found I have lyme the horror stories of incompetant drs and scumbag insurance companies is too much to ignore. I just wish you the healthiest life possible and your symptoms were exactly like mine. there is a ton of info on lymenet and if you ask ques on the discussion board there are many very helpful people who can direct you to links and information. peace, love, and good health, cheryl lap rny 5-17-01 263/135 sz 26 to sz
