We go to CT in Charlotte. They are excellent and trained solely on this type of orthotic. It is all they do. They are very knowledgeable and the improvement in my son's plagio and asymmetry has been amazing. I highly recommend CT.

I've been to Hanger in sville & saw . They measured my daughter's head & told me the number was 10 (for the difference in the diagonal across top of head) and then I went to Cranial Tech in Charlotte and saw Kathy and she told me the number was 18. Hanger should cost us $900 and CT should cost us $3000. we are so confused by the differences! We have a 3rd appointment at Level Four in Charlotte tomorrow (quoting $760) where they do the starband, I think, and will get a new measurement. Does anyone have opinions about the different places in this area? We have BCBS of NC insurance. I WELCOME information about your experiences, esp if you have shopped around, have used or decided against any of these places for any reason or if you have the same insurance that I have. Thanks in advance!-

we used CT in Charlotte and were very pleased. We had an even greater difference in measurements. CT gave us 15-17 mm assymetry and Hanger gave us 2 mm assymetry. So for us it was easy to know which was right b/c 2 is near perfect and his head was far from that. The fact Hanger was so off and told us they wouldnt even fix his ear assymetry made the decision easy for us. But we went to Hanger in Columbia, SC not Charlotte and from what I have heard on the group it entirely depends on the orthotist you get and their experience etc, some have had great results with Hanger in other areas. So I would search the archives or look in the database speciafically for ppl who had used the Hanger or Level 4 you are looking at for reviews on them. I can give a review on CT Charlotte though. They were GREAT. They were honest, when I asked they said he would where the helmet for an average of 3 mo and in that time they expected to get his assymetry down to around an 8 or 9. They also explained about ear assymetry, that it involves the smaller bones in the skull base so is harder to correct but that CT does see correction in it. In the end we were in the band almost exactly 3 months and he went from 15-17 down to 4-6, so even better than they told us.
