Guest guest
I'll second that- pretty yucky and gritty. A waste of good yogurt and jello. Oh well, we live and learn! :-) Lis Lane -----Original Message----- From: Sally I wasn't very impressed with it. Guest guest
Hi Sally; So sorry to hear that you did not like the yogurt/jello mixture. I used SF orange Jello gelatin, and all I had here was 16 oz. plain lo fat yogurt, and just poured the jello powder into the carton and stirred it well by hand. It mixed up good. My husband liked it too, and we did not have any gritty taste, or undisolved jello. I did not have the FF yogurt. Could this be the difference? We thought it was great! My husband wants me to make some more. A nice way to have yogurt that is so good for us. I have heard it is good for our immune system. Guest guest
I wonder if you let it sit overnight if that wouldn't take care of the grittiness (or even just sit a few hours). I'd imagine it would need to be mixed very well and not eaten right away. I hope the original poster doesn't feel bad with the " yuck! " responses. Remember how we respond might be hurtful to someone who originally shares a recipe, even though of course we don't intend it! > > Hi Sally; So sorry to hear that you did not like the yogurt/jello mixture. Guest guest
Oh, I meant no offense! Everyone has different tastes, and where as some loved it, some don't. If she had authored the recipe, I guess I wouldn't have posted my comments, but since it was a suggestion from a meeting, I thought I'd save someone the cost of a carton of yogurt. Sorry if I hurt the feelings of the poster! Lis Lane -----Original Message----- From: Tory Klementsen, MCP A+ I hope the original poster doesn't feel bad with the " yuck! " responses. Guest guest
No hurt feelings here at all! :-) Just sorry that people felt like they wasted ingredients. But... not every recipe is a keeper and not every recipe will agree with all. Myself, I've had many great recipes from discussion groups but I've also tried some bombs. I was actually thinking about the yogurt/jello thing this morning. Given the mixed results, I might do a little experimenting when I am able. (I have a ton of strawberry SF jello.) I'm going to give the recipe a try with the dry jello and whip it up well in my KitchenAid mixer. I'm also going to try it out by mixing the jello with the smallest possible amount of boiling water before mixing it into the yogurt. I'll give a shout out when I've tried it to let everyone know my own results. Guest guest
I didn't waste any ingredients here. LOL I ate it anyway! I was thinking like you though that a tiny bit of boiling water would take care of the grittiness. My second thought is...why not just buy flavored yogurt? It tastes about the same and would be cheaper in the long run. LOL > No hurt feelings here at all! :-) Just sorry that people felt like they > wasted ingredients. Guest guest
Very true... though Core WWers would have to count the points then. I might be stirring up another tempest here... but I talked to someone the other day who, for some extra flavor, has been stirring small amounts of dry Crystal Light into plain FF yogurt. I haven't tried it yet, but will soon. Re: yogurt tip from meeting I didn't waste any ingredients here. LOL I ate it anyway! Guest guest
When I was away, someone made the jello and yogurt and it was real good. Yesterday I made it and it was horrible, I even through most of it out..So today I called her and she told me how she did it...She put one cup of boiling water in the dry jello packet and let it cool, then she put in 2 cups of ff sf yogurt and whipped the dickens out of it with a hand whipper. It formed up like a mouse..and hers was really tasty.. then another day she did it with orange jello and vanilla yogurt and put some mandarin orange pieces in it..that was tasty too, whipped to a mouse consistency. I don't know if I spelled mouse right, it looks like that little 4 legged creature that most of us hate, but you's know what I mean, right.. ~~Kallie~ ==================================================================== In Serious-Weight-Watchers , " " <andrea@l...> wrote: > Very true... though Core WWers would have to count the points then. > > I might be stirring up another tempest here... but I talked to someone the > other day who, for some extra flavor, has been stirring small amounts of dry > Crystal Light into plain FF yogurt.
