Guest guest
Hi everybody, I'm , I was active on the group for a year, until about a year ago when I got pregnant. Yeah, I know you can stay on WW during pregnancy, but since this was my third and final kid, I used it as my excuse to eat what I wanted -- which actually wasn't much, I don't tend to gain during pregnancy since the nausea takes the edge off of my appetite and my stomach feels pretty squeezed and full. My husband is convinced that I got pregnant in order to avoid dieting for nine months. I vowed I would go right back on after I had the baby, which I did on July 12. My first meeting back was in August, and I guess I wasn't quite ready mentally and my life wasn't organized enough to start again. After a month I went back and was up four pounds! But I'm happy to say that I lost those four pounds the first week I was " really " back. And I've had two meetings since, and lost 2 pounds each week. Eight pounds in three weeks feels pretty good! A special hello to Tory who is a special source of " if she can do it, so can I " inspiration. One of the things I did to psych myself up for going back to WW was to reread her website. I totally admire how she's in this for the longterm, and remains active on various boards to help others. What's funny is that during the whole year, I never unsubscribed from the digest version of this group. I kept receiving the E-mails, didn't read them and deleted them, but I stayed on, as kind of a promise to myself that I was going back. And now I am. What's really pushing me this time is wanting to be a good example to my kids, age 8,6 and four months. They have inherited both my husband's and my metabolism, build, and love of food (these are kids who never have to be pushed to eat) and I've realized there is no way to get them to eat healthy and be active if I'm not. Especially in the case of my daughter, who is six, and wants to be just like me, and will be -- including being fat -- if I don't work at it. Now, the house is devoid of fattening snacks or candy, except when they bring it home from a birthday party. I cut out french fries entirely, except when other children come over to play. All desserts at home are healthy ones -- fruit, yogurt, applesauce, low-fat ice cream once a week or so. That helps me by keeping temptation out of the house. I let them occasionally indulge in " real " desserts when we're outside the house. While my daughter doesn't seem to have LOST weight, her weight seems to be holding steady now, and she's growing taller, so she's definitely less round than she was. And my new baby is another girl, so that's another daughter to set a good example for and be a mom they can be proud of. This time I'm not just doing it for me, I'm doing it for them, and I'm hoping that will make a difference. I live overseas, and so the Core program is totally alien to me -- here we still just do the Flex Points. I'm curious about it -- are the details anywhere on the Web? 240/232/??? (When I left Weight Watchers before the baby, I'd lost 20 pounds and gotten to 218 -- so that's my first goal, to get back to where I left off....) Would someone please post those links or tell me where to find them. I desperately need some encouragement too! ) Rhonda
Guest guest
Hi, . Welcome back. Being an example for your kids is wonderful inspiration to lose the weight. Allowing your children to see you make healthy food choices is great. I also returned to WW in January of this year after giving birth to my first baby in December. I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy. But, through WW, I am almost back to prepregnancy. Good luck. You can do it! Hope 240/173/170 or 165 or ?
