Critical Care Paramedic Certification

If you'll buy and read Bledsoe's Critical Care Paramedic (full disclosure, I

helped write one chapter) you'll immediately see the difference between CCPM

and PHTLS.

I am all for training for specilized care. But wouldn't the ATLS, or

PHTLS be the same thing? Along with ACLS, and PALS?

What exactly do you mean by " tech medic " ? I have a feeling that our definitions

The same thing as what? If you are asking if the cumulative 32 hours of

Oh, here we go. In no way did I mean to offend any in this group or in our

profession, just was passing to the masses that the first question on the survey

was to identify our arena of EMS which was; Air - Air/Ground - or " Healthcare

Facility " , where if you were Air only the survey ended after that question, but

 in which the latters, Air/Ground and  " Healthcare Facility " were being

surveyed. I've always identified In Hospital (ER, ICU Medics) as " tech medics "

or as they are identified in most facilities as Nurse Tech, Healthcare

Tech..........remembering that all of our monikers end c Emergency Medical

TECHNICIAN, whether college, tech school, or an apprenticeship program

education. Not trying to split hairs or be an ass, guess I will watch my wording

more carefully from now on, but I question: Is this type of sensitivity that

we question on this board, just more fodder , or as some here have stated,

let's pull ourselves up by our

bootstraps, take care of what's important to OUR profession, especially of the

past few days topics but in reality most topics discussed here,  in all of EMS's

controversies. I like what I read here and the question it seem's like since

we've been in EMS, who's going to lead/guide/instruct/mentor and counsel us now

and in the future.

I do apologize if I offend, but I do not apoligize in what I believe. gda

Geeze, Man. No offence was taken. No hair splitting involved. I simply did

not understand who you were referring to with your non-standard terminology and
