Guest guest
For whatever it's worth, I think that's a good decision. Would you have thought, a year ago? two? three? that you would EVER be having these kinds of problems? -Sara.

And I CERTAINLY never imained that I would actually be editing a friendship -- I figured if he ever got one, we'd hold on to the kid no matter WHAT. I did so often despair he'd never have anyone to play with or call a friend. I definitely thought any breakdown with a playmate would be caused by ERIC, not by the other kid -- you know, Ben's cheating and lying and being so bossy. I always thought ERIC would be the one who was not playing by the friendship rules. Nope, it's all a big surprise to me. Sometimes, though, I get so caught up in the moment I truly forget how far he's come. Jacquie

Guest guest
> Thanks to everyone who responded to my numerous posts lately. hehe. > I would reply individually, but I am not getting emails. I hate > having to go to the site and respond. You have a MUCH better excuse than I do, Tamara! We got Marc's income tax return last week and bought a playstation2. I am currently devoting many hours a day to Final Fantasy. Or sitting side by side with learning how to virtually skateboard with Tony Hawk. ( has not watched television in five days!) I am ignoring my computer not in favour of life, but in favour of a novel escape. :-) Jacquie
Guest guest
Hi , I wouldn't be the one to ask to solve any email problems- LOL! but what does it show in the " To " field? I can understand why you would be questioning whether to do all the casting or go for an ATTT. I'm not sure how well Emma would be tolerating the FAB at this stage either. We did try to put her in it when she was 3 1/2 after 2 local casting sessions for about 2 weeks first set and 1 week second set. One cast was causing her pain so we had to remove it early and we lost some correction in the wait for the FAB which arrived late. The left was never fully corrected but we tried the FAB anyway and at too high degree (70 then down to 60 or a bit less- it should have been more gradual but we weren't being advised on the angle) so Emma didn't tolerate it and couldn't sleep in it. We tried for a few weeks. So we let her go for the summer (better than the previous summer, not so much tripping so we did keep some correction). But in the Fall we sent pics and video to Dr. P who wavered a bit but then said that we shouldn't leave her feet like that. We thought we were going to Iowa for more casting but when they actually saw the feet they recommended the ATTT. So we're not a good case study for the re-casting method. If she had been younger I believe it could have worked. IF the feet were fully corrected with casting she would have tolerated the FAB (though she would still have needed a lot of explanation and coaxing), and I would personally have preferred going the FAB way. I even think the results would have been better than with ATTT. The surgery was not a good experience and didn't fully solve her metatarsus adductus on the left. I guess she was just too old and had problems that the ATTT couldn't fully solve. But we're not looking for any other intervention now. The right looks great and we're hoping that the left will continue to improve as the muscles strengthen. Overall, I guess you shouldn't look at the ATTT as a magic bullet. Either way, Evan's going to be in casts for a few weeks, so you'll be going through all the pre-cast hyping about how much fun you're going to be having with him afterward! If you try casting and FAB and it doesn't work you can wait a while (months) before going for the ATTT to give him a break. It is a big mountain from your point of view now, but looking back now in the scheme of things it wasn't so bad. It's a tough call to make. But good luck and we'll always support you here on whatever way you choose. - Re: being put under to get casted > > > Carole, what a relief to have the first cast/OR thing behind you. > Evan goes for his first re-cast on May 27. Guest guest
Thanks for the help with the eye doctor info i had asked for. I saw the eye doc and he did his exam and said he was concern with the white spots, although he would not say it was sarcoid he saw, he did say it was consistant with sarcoid, so i have to come back in three weeks for another exam. but it was fun interviewing the doctors and this one ask me what i have been diagonsed with and when i told him he started telling ne the test he would need to do, and i had written down the test suggested in the archives of this group, and he called almost all of them, that was when i knew he was the doctor i needed to see.
