Guest guest
Hi there I haven't posted since 2004! I'm back. My son Jordi had plagio and wore a Doc band. It all seems so long ago now. Anyways he did really well with the band and as far I I knew didn't have any problems since. Jordi started Kindergarten this last fall. He has been showing some signs of a learning diability (behavioural, some speech). I never thought of any relationship but when I googled plagiocephaly and learning diability some articles did come up. It looks like there haven't been alot of studies done but the few that have been done to date do conclude that there is a high percentage of learning disability with plagio kids. Is there anyone out there that can comment on this from personal experience? Jordi has just been evaluated by a psychologist and he will be requiring an aide in his classroom. I am trying to read everything I can and get a grip on this so I can do whatever I can to help him. He will obviously be a different learner. Understanding and knowing what the right things to do is what I need to find out. If anyone can comment or help I would appreciate it. Thanks! Carolyn (mom to Jordi, now 5 and 4 1/2yrs post doc band grad) Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA
