RE: Sharing WW PDA Program

Yep, I have decided to go back to WWCalc - freeware for the PDA. The

" official " WW pda program is a total memory hog - and I've found that trying

to sync with the WW site using my dial-up connection (connecting at only 24

bps) took forever. Also, the WW official pda program needs to connect to

the WW e-Tools site during the installation process to download all of the

food items into your PDA - so it isn't a total stand-alone program. The

WWCalc program can be found in this group's Files section under " healthy

unit calculator. " Version 4.0.6 is the latest version available.

I'm stuck at trying to figure out just what it was that I deleted on my PDA

so that I would have ROOM for the official program... My pda has 16 MB of

internal memory... with the official program loaded, I was down to about 2

MB free. Once I deleted that (a nightmare in itself because I ended up

having to do a HARD reset) and reinstalled all of WWCalc (plus the

restaurants and the 2002 food companion), I now have about 6 MB free!

:D

Re: Sharing WW PDA Program

1. Not following doctor's orders could make your injury worse.

2. At present, WW is only offering their PDA program to essentially brick

&

mortar members (who also have e-tools). So I suppose the way to obtain

the

WW PDA program without pirating it (you don't want to do that, I hope)

would

be to join WW as a brick and mortar member. There are other programs which

I

feel are as good or better (not such memory hogs) - which are freeware. I

am a brick & mortar member of WW and also have e-tools but I figured their

PDA

program might be a memory hog so I decided against getting it at this

time.

(also the 1.0 version of anything isn't a good idea) Write me privately

if

you can not find the WWcalc (which is NOT a memory hog) and I can send you

that one. I've been using it for years... it's excellent.

When you are on vacation is probably NOT the best time to test new

software

anyway....
