I bought my son one of the Zires. My advice? By an OPEN BOX model. They

have been refurbished and work terrific. I bought a Tungsten T2 open Box

for $188, and it came with a free game expansion card and case. Go to the

Palm Website and do some research.

Why are you thinking about getting a Palm? Simply for the WW program? I

wouldn't invest in it just for that. PDA's are a different viewpoint on

life, if you ask me. I hate HATE paper. We get tons of it in the mail

every day, my garbage can is full of it. So, years ago I was given my first

Palm, Back when US Robotics was making them. I found ways to use it because

I wasn't that organized and it was great fun, and a great benefit. Then I

worked for a company that bought my " lin Refills " for me. So, I went

back to paper. I prefer using PDA " S FAR AND ABOVE over paper simply because

I can keep all my important information all in one spot. I synch and back

up the info on my PDA to the computer. They are expensive toys, however, if

you still rely on paper. There is a terrific freeware program called

" checkbook " that has saved my financial life. I also have games, music and

audio books on my PDA. And since my son has a " Bluetooth " Zire (I can't

remember which one) we can be really silly and chat with each other using

the PDA's. Mind you he is 20 years old.

That was a lot of rambling. I simply love my PDA and hope to never be

without one again. If you are thinking of investing in the monochrome Zire,

then just get the open box one for $58.99. You will find it in the factory

outlet part of the Palm website. But beware, you will find ways to use it.

Email me off group, and I can give you some great links for freeware.

OT-Palm Zire

All this PDA talk and now I think I want to buy one. Does anyone have the

Zire? I am not sure that I will use it so I want a started unit first. Any

advice?????
