How did you know you got "glutened" at your last hair cut? Did you actually have a physical reaction to a hair product? I do not mean this question to come across as cynical, I just would like to understand how you knew.

Does anyone know of a good salon shampoo and conditioner that is gf? I am really picky about my hair and prefer a good salon shampoo and conditioner, but I am not sure if there are any. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I tend to get a really itchy, scaley, scabby scalp if a shampoo/conditioner has wheat in it...I like Lanza Remedy shampoo. It seems to keep the scalp healthy and does clear up the skin irritation that may arise from gluten exposure (via food or hair products.)

For example, I had my hair done recently by my hairdresser, and she used the ONE shampoo she has that I cannot use (wheat ingredients) and my head was itchy within a minute (that is how we knew, we looked.) It was my fault, as I did *NOT* remind her to check the ingredients (and let me look.) Anyway, a few days (week or so) with the Lanza Remedy and it is back to normal. (She also rewashed my hair twice, with a gluten free shampoo...I dont know what it was.)

I just responded with a situation I had in regard to my hair appointment recently too. I know I got glutened because I got itchy instantly...it is sort of a burn kind of feeling. Within a half hour, my checks and chin got rosey spots. And within the next 1 1/2 hours, my whole face was quite red. I hate that! But for me, that is a sign that I have been glutened...or some other food allergy that I may not be aware of.

Happened again last night, and can't figure out the source....more testing coming soon....

I have been wondering if it may be beef that I am allergic to...

I know a lot of curly haired folks who go no 'poo. I think you can

google Curly Girl for more information. Having stick-straight hair,

I don't really know where you go. My husband is doing no 'poo,

though, and having good luck. Here's more information:

I personally use homemade conditioner. I use baking soda or a bar of

soap if I need to scrub at all. I use a rinse of apple cider vinegar

to make sure all the residue is out of my hair before I shut off the

shower.

finding these? I use Clinique hairspray which is fragrance free and doesn’t

bother me.

Sorry for the delay, been in cooking classes. I use TiGi Curls Rock Curl Amplifier as a mouse/leave-in conditioner and the hair spray I use is Aveda Brilliant Medium hold Hair Spray. Again, I have personally verified these with the manufacturer and they are GF. It took TiGi 3 weeks to figure out what was GF, but they were so nice calling me every week with an update until they knew for sure what was GF in their curly product line. Now that is customer service! If you call the Aveda customer service number, they will email you the latest list of GF products.

Ok, so i'm on vacation so i dont have a list yet, but i wanted to let

you all know that my salon just got a new line called schwarzkopf! We

got some samples so far, I read the ingredients on a few, Smoothing

shampoo and smoothing conditioner, color save shampoo and conditioner,

moisture treatment, Magic which is a anti frizz serum (light but

great) all are amazing, smell so good and dont list gluten in the

ingredients. I havent gone as far to contact the company yet, but I

will when I get a chance. DO NOT USE: flat iron spray or moisture

spray conditioner both contain wheat! To find these products go to

your nearest Regis Salon, in your mall. (thats where i work and i know

that all regis salons should be carrying it by now!).. i will keep you

informed! I have very curly hair and have been using the smoothing

shampoo and conditioner i only straigten a few times a month, and its
