the band redirected growth to the flat areas. it didn't just squish it

into a nicer shape :-). its not really that it is soft enough, it is

more that it is growing fast enough to be worthwhile. regression is

rare, but does happen. I would assume it won't happen to your

daughter, and then just keep your eye on it.
