I don't you don't want to do the surgery but it is better from my own experience to get it over with. It does not sound like fun but better then broken ribs that have to heal. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Hang in there! Hil Ingrid/Update Hi, Got a call late this evening. My surgery for Monday is cancelled. Now they rescheduled it for Thursday. Don't know what time yet? She said they will call me Weds. to let me know. The nurse talked to me alittle about the precedure. I feel a little better about it but still am scared. Just do not want my ribs to hurt forever. But see no way around it. They will go through my ribs to get to the nodule and it does not sound like fun. Ingrid No, Ingrid...it doesn't sound like fun at all....but you will get through it to the other side of recouperation. We'll be right here spurring you on!! Praying too!! I hate that they postponed your surgery...that just sux!!! Try to keep busy and not dwell on it...I know, I know...easier said than done!! When I was at the surgeons office and he said he was going to deflate my lung and then go and feel the nodule, all I could do was look at the size of his hands and think how far my ribs would have to spread to get his hands into me. Only could think of OUCH!!!! Now, I was told by someone else that he does not reach inside of me. That they deflate the lungs and then spread my ribs some and then pull some of the deflated lung out to feel up. Is this true???
