I was 44 when diagnosed and started chemo. After my second treatment of CMF I

went into chemo induced menopause. Luckily I never had any hot flashes etc. That

was 16 1/2 yrs ago.

Re: Hi everyone

Thanks Eileen, this brings up a questions I have...

I've been hearing that Chemo can through you into Menapause, has anyone

experienced this.

I'm 46 and I'm sure I've already started the night sweats.

I start Chemo on Tuesday and I'm wondering which drugs to watch out for

regarding this menapause onset.

I just finished my radiation planning and am all set up to start rads on

Monday. They told me the last 5 sessions of the 30 treatments are high

beam aimed at my lumptectomy and scar. Is the the usual procedure? I

just thought they were a little higher dose. Also I was advised to begin

tamoxifen 2 weeks after rads and there is no other choice for me since I

still get my periods monthly. Did anyone out there take anything else

other tham tamoxifen while still getting theri periods. I just hate all

those side effects that I have been reading about. Also how soon after

rads do you go for a mammogram? Thanks for you support- this group is

the best!

I stopped my periods when I started chemo...and did not have them again...I had

chemo and radiation...I started with Tamoxifin and took it for a little less

than a year because I was getting leg cramps and lots of swelling in my

feet...then I was put on Arimidex and have one more year to go...I had my

operation in 2002...I have a little bone loss so take calcium every day...

Hi everyone

Just a note to say hi and that I miss you all. I'm still hangin in there, swollen up pretty good but that's from the CHF. I'm still having trouble walking, my legs are so weak. I don't get online much anymore, maybe once or twice a week but I wanted to say hi, so....HI.... :) You are all in my prayers each night, God bless you....Love,Vicky81856
