Guest guest
I am new here and I am sure not getting a warm fuzzy feeling. I belong to several weight loss groups and every other group encourages us to talk about everything dealing with our weight loss journey. If it is a race that is important to us, if it is that we are finally able to walk 15 minutes without huffing and puffing, if it is about spouse/significant others who help us through or try to destroy everything we are working for - EVERYTHING is encouraged. I have been on one board for over 2 years and these people have become my friends. I feel as if I can share the world with them. That is what these groups are supposed to be about - mutual support, understanding, courage, strength, love. I do not understand what all the anger and fussing is about. Sure does not make new comers feel welcome. I never intended that it wasn't. I have included exercise of some kind or other my whole adult life. I was just stating that (it seemed to me) it was getting very intense about what we could or could not post on this board and I wondered why we could give such detailed reports on exercise programs. I know exercise is important, but I just thought that maybe all the really detailed reports about races, etc. could be more appeciated on another board that is geared toward that. I think all of you who are really into that are terrific and I am very proud of each and every one of you. That said, even though you think you are motivating everyone, once in a while I personally feel a little " twinge " . I personally cannot and will not ever be able to run even 5 miles. I do exercise and I am at lifetime. I am sorry if I have offended anyone in any way. I was trying to figure out the guidelines of this board, and I guess I am still confused. But you are right, if I don't want to read a certain post, I can delete it. Terri
Guest guest
Janet, Do not worry! We are a great group. I've been a member since last year (and Lyn was nice enough to make me a moderator earlier this month) and there have only been a few " bad message days. " That is not a unique situation, 'cause misunderstandings arise in every message group. Unfortunately, you can't see people when they're talking (or typing for that matter) and misunderstandings usually arise over stuff that would NEVER be argued over in a face-to-face situation. EVERYTHING that is related to your weight-loss journey is relevent and WELCOMED here! 175/157.8/130 Re: moderating > > > > I agree completely that exercise is an extremely important part > of the WW program.
