Guest guest
Since I've decided that I want to get the full evaluation as part of the Triennial review, I'd like to know what tests I ask for. Do I just say I want his speech and language evaluated? His social behavior evaluated? His listening abilities? Do they then suggest the tests that would measure these things? Or do they already have a set of tests that they pull from and which are standard? I just want to make sure we have information to review when it comes to sitting down for the IEP and determining services and needs. What I won't most is for the team to understand that listening is a challenge and how it affects in the classroom. He performs well day to day. What kind of test would catch a delay if there is one? Should I ask for a specific test by name? K 's mom, 5 years, CI at 20 months
Guest guest
, we had the CELF test which is language (and pretty stringent) as well as a pre-reading test and a pre-math test , as well as a WISC III (IQ) test when our daughter was evaluated by the oral school. The school psychologist (who worked 100% of her time with D/HOH kids and LD kids) did the WISC. There was also a listening test that I don't recall the name of and more language and speech tests also. And an observation in a classroom that was very instructive because they knew what to look for. That might be an idea, to ask an oral school what tests they would administer as part of a comprehensive evaluation. After our district tested our daughter, I got a copy of the states' manual for standardized testing. About 80% of the tests my district used were recommended NOT to be used for determining eligibility for hearing impaired. AARRGGHH. in GA triennial tests? > >Since I've decided that I want to get the full evaluation as part of the Triennial review, I'd like to know what tests I ask for.
