What locations are you guys having problems with? I frequent the Marlton, NJ location and (knock on wood) have NEVER had any problems. A GF menu is only as good as the waitstaff.

Funny, I wont eat at an Outback because of all the negative things Ive heard about cross contamination.

My son reacts pretty quickly when he gets some gluten. We've eaten at

PF Changs three times and the past two times he's had a reaction even

though we've ordered everything off the GF menu. I am disappointed

because there must be some cross-contamination going on or something.

Maybe the waiter just grabbed the wrong plate. I don't know. I

really like the idea of having a restaurant with a GF menu,

especially Chinese food, but I just don't know if I can trust them

again.

was told by my waiter that they add some wheat to the brown rice. The

white rice was fine. This is the first I had heard of this but I have

gotten the brown rice there for years. I do get a small reaction when

I have eaten there but wrote it off to the volume of food that I eat!

I've eaten at PF Changs around 5 times and never have had a reaction. (and I seem to react to the very smallest amounts of gluten). I believe I've had brown rice each time. I just went there for my daughters 23rd B-day last week, and she and I both ordered off of the GF menu. I ordered brown rice and was not told it wasn't GF. Why on earth would they put wheat in plain rice? I didn't notice anything unusal about it either. Please let us know if you've heard anything else.

I was at the location in the Beverly Center in LA.

I personally think you should contact the manager of the store. That is NOT okay! My father just won't go back to an establishment if he is unhappy on several occasions. As a previous store manager, that is NOT the thing to do. The thing to do, is to alert the management/owner of what you have seen/experienced. If management doesn't know, nothing will be done or get changed. They have meetings with their staff regularly and cross contamination CAN be discussed! It will only help.

Maybe the waiter did just grab the wrong plate, but again, NOT OK! You should have gotten your meal free or a coupon for another visit...or something! If we are clear about our needs and express them kindly and in detail, most managers are very willing to accommodate...IF they desire your repeat business and maintaining a good reputation.

Food intolerances and allergies are nothing to take lightly! And those serving food with claims (of whatever) need to be responsible for keeping those claims accurate. They are ignorant, until they are taught. If they are taught and continue to be erroneous in giving inaccurate information or food, they should be fired as they are not fit for the food industry...or at least that situation.

My thoughts,

(still in Maine!)

I also have never had problems there. I have eaten at ones in MN

and WI and ALWAYS have brown rice. The have an actual GF menu

there, so I don't know why you could get it if it wasn't okay.

There are times when they have asked me a lot of questions too, so

they seem to be in the know about what we can and can't have. And I

also react to the tiniest bit of gluten, so ????? Let's hope that

it is still okay to eat and the waitress was mistaken.

I have eaten at PF Changs all over Florida, NJ (I have found the one in Marlton

NJ to be the most knowledgeable) and other parts of the country and they are

great about the GF menu. They may not make the brown rice the same at all of

them. I will simply stay away from it from now on just in case.

There is one in Atlantic City - make a weekend out of it!

You people are starting to make me REALLY cranky. We don't have a Chang's within a zillion miles of here (I'm in VT) and it's really starting to bum me out!! I'd have to go to Boston to eat there...and a 4 hour car ride is NOT my idea of fun!! Sigh...I'll just keep visiting their website and asking them to come to VT....

In Kansas City I had to have a talk with management

because the waitress insisted that brown rice was

brown because they had added gluten soy sauce to it.

I had to explain that the " brown " on brown rice was

the fiber and natural rather than man made. Some

people are just uneducated about such things.

I work a few minutes from my PF Changs and frequent

there quite often with no problems and love the brown

rice :)

I went to the Santa , CA location last night for my boyfriend's birthday. (funny how everyone wants to go to PF Changs for their birthday, I'm so lucky!)

I was assured by my waitress that the brown rice was GF.

PS. If you haven't tried the Wild Alaskan salmon with ginger sauce, it is the best! It is well worth the fact that it is the most expensive item on the GF menu. Both the salmon and veggies were so good I wanted to cry. There are very few times I can eat at a restaurant without having a reaction. I've never had a problem with PF Changs.

I ate at PF Chang's on Friday and it was the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. I think I would just die if there weren't two PF Chang's within 15 minutes of me.
