Guest guest
I know its been awhile and Im not on often but here is the latest on Elijah (age 5 months) The last I reported was that his shoes wouldnt stay on and thanks to Angel for her private emails and pics, we were able to determine that Elijah is part of the less than 5% of club foot patients that deal with Plantaris. Our Dr (military) was going on leave for two weeks and my husband who had been deployed for 6 months was due home soon so Elijah was able to go without shoes and casts for a few weeks until Dad and Doc were available. Dr Kelleher wanted to allow him some time to use his foot and build up some strength in his leg and hopefully allow his foot to grow in order to fit better in the shoes. The time worked wonders for both of us. After dealing with this w/out Dad since Elijah's birth, I enjoyed the break and so did he. He was also able to work those leg and foot muscles. Our first appt was 8/12 and Daddy was able to go w/ us. Elijah was casted again. 70 degress externally rotated, 5 degrees upward and his foot was twisted in such a way that stretches the plantar tendon. We've had one cast change since then and have another one tomorrow. I think we'll have a couple more and then he'll have another tenotomy since the last one wasnt productive due to the plantar tendon allowing his foot to slip from the cast. At the time of the tenotomy, the Dr might do a release on the plantar as well. While we were in the casting room, someone from the base came by to do an article on Dr K and we had our pics taken. I'll be posting them on the CFPics site.
