Guest guest
Holly, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and we have had 3 ultrasounds since 16 weeks gestation. Just to put your mind at ease a little, I wanted to let you know that our 16 week, 20 week, and 25 week u/s were all good. No clubfeet the second time around...at least we're pretty sure. We saw our first daughters cf at a 17 week ultrasound. I still think your odds are pretty good Best wishes, Amy 6/10/01 Right CF Now out of DBB! > Hi Everyone, > We're feeling a little like the wind was let out of our sails. Guest guest
...Just curious but were the sonographers LOOKING for clubfeet or were they doing a routine u/s. I know with my first daughter it was a fluke that they found her cf (they weren't looking). With this baby, I've told each sonographer about our first daughter's cf and they have spent extra time observing this babies feet by ultrasound. As a matter of fact, we had one sonographer that even did a 4D ultrasound of just the babies feet (they just had gotten this new technology and wanted to try it out . Guest guest
Hi Amy- No...they weren't looking specifically for clubfeet. There had been no clubfeet history up until this one was born. > >Reply-To: nosurgery4clubfoot >To: nosurgery4clubfoot >Subject: Re: Clubfoot Can be Detected Anywhere Between >16-26 Weeks Gestation >Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2004 17:47:28 -0400 > >...Just curious but were the sonographers LOOKING for clubfeet >or were they doing a routine u/s. Guest guest
I had a visit to the ob/gyn this week for a check up and asked if her feet could have been noticed on the ultrasound. He said that they would not have been looking for it, they measure the femur, but don't really look at the feet, I guess unless our first had clubfeet. I have a great shot of her feet at the 20 week and both of her feet look the same to me. Holly, try not to think about it too much. I know it is a worry, but 6 more weeks will be here before you know it and I am sure it will be fine! Louisa > Hi Everyone, > We're feeling a little like the wind was let out of our sails.
