Guest guest
Hello, I haven't posted in a long time but something has happened that has made me upset. AJ has been a patient of Dr. Herzenberg since he was 12 days old. He is now 3.5 and we were scheduled for a check up this Friday. The insurance company has not paid for the last two visits. I just found out that Dr. H cancelled his contract with the Insurance company. Even though we had gotten preapproved to see Dr. H before AJ was born they still won't cover it. I wish someone had told me before, then I could have made arrangements to pay. Now not only do I owe the Institute, I also don't know if I can continue to take AJ to see Dr. H. Aside from the doctor's fees, there are also the $11.00 in tolls to get there, plus gas. With all of AJ's other problems I don't know if I can justify the expense. I am really upset over this. I trust Dr. H and don't know if there is someone closer that we could see for the follow up. AJ has been hospitalized twice since March for 5 days each with seizures and we still don't have a diganosis. I just don't know what to do. Does anyone know of someone in the NJ/Philly area who is Ponsetti trained? We take AJ to Dupont in Wilmington Delaware for his neurologist, endocrinologist, opthamologist, nephrologist, etc. Thanks for your input. and AJ 3.5 bilateral ideopathic clubfeet, PVL, BT13:14, osteoperosis, hypotonia, global delays, nonverbal, strabismus, seizures, no dx. Guest guest
, Is it possible that AJ is eligible for medicaid? It will cover children up to 200% poverty in addition to your insurance and in general picks up what your insurance won't pay. I'd call my local Dept of Human Services and ask today! Guest guest
The only Ponsetti trained doctor close to us is 150 miles away near Kansas City. Dr. Jarva doesn't take our insurance either and we have to pay $60 per visit. Luckily it's only every six months, but it's not easy. Guest guest
, I am so sorry you are having to deal with this on top of everything else. I think it is outrageous they did not tell you about the insurance changes. Have you been able to contact them and explain the situation? It sounds like you must be on 6 month check ups now, maybe they can work out a deal with you. Their is a great money guy on the radio here and he says that negotiating with doctors, hospitals, etc. about fees is completely acceptable. I would really hope they would work with you considering the circumstances. With regards to future check ups, the dr. that I have heard most about in that area is Dr. Sher in NYC. It sounds like that would be a long trip for you and I know the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway are toll fests. Here is his info. M. Scher, M.D. Hospital for Joint Diseases 301 East 17th St. New York, NY 10003 Tel: Fax: I read on a post a few days ago that he is moving to another location in NY soon, hopefully someone from the NE will comment on that. I hope you write and let us know how it goes. Best of luck. Louisa 6-27-99 Zoe 2-22-04 RCF FAB 18/7 > Hello, > > I haven't posted in a long time but something has happened that has > made me upset. Guest guest
Candy, Have you checked to see if Dr. Bonar from Rockhill orthopedics takes your insurance in Kansas City. She is on the ponseti list still and that is where Isabella got her treatment from. > >Hello, > > > >I haven't posted in a long time but something has happened that has > >made me upset.
